ALT Sustain our workforce From stage door keepers to costume departments, 70% of the 290,000 jobs in the UK theatre industry are at risk. Over two thirds of total theatre workers are freelance or self-employed, including actors, musicians and creatives. With theatres closed, we need a fully funded extension to the Job Retention Scheme and a new package to support the army of freelancers and self-employed artists.
