Got pulled over for going too slow and the cop seemed personally offended. Cop: Do you know why I stopped you? Me: Speeding? Cop: The opposite. Me: I was going too slow? Cop: Twenty-eight in a forty-five. Me: I was looking for a turn. Cop: For two miles? Me: The GPS was confused. Cop: Were you confused? Me: Also yes. Cop: There's a minimum speed on this road. Me: I didn't know that. Cop: Now you know. Me: Are you giving me a ticket? Cop: I'm giving you a warning. Me: For going slow. Cop: For impeding traffic. Me: Nobody was behind me. Cop: I was behind you. Me: (pause) That's fair. Cop: You held me up for six minutes. Me: I apologize. Cop: Where were you going? Me: A restaurant. First time. Bad directions. Cop: Which restaurant? Me: Tony's. Cop: Tony's is three blocks that way. Me: (staring) You know where Tony's is? Cop: Everyone knows where Tony's is. Me: I didn't. Cop: You do now. Me: Can I go? Cop: At a reasonable speed. Me: Forty-five? Cop: Forty would be acceptable. Me: Thank you. Cop: The meatballs are good. Me: (still sitting there) What? Cop: At Tony's. The meatballs. Me: You're recommending food.
