I’ll be honest…
This was my #1 chase card from the moment the 30th leaks came out.
Still can’t believe I actually pulled it.
I’ve been saying this is coming.
People hoarding ultra modern Pokémon because “lol Pokémon always goes up” are going to learn a hard lesson.
Eventually, some won’t be able to keep holding and that’s when product gets dumped at a loss and even under retail.
But that’s a conversation for another day… 👀

It’s a shame the market has gotten to this point.

Pikachu Special Illustration Rare’s from the 30th Anniversary are being price manipulated.
“Market price” on TCGPlayer is showing $27 despite not a single copy for sale under $90.
The screen recording shows tons of fake listings between 9/26 and 9/27 being sold for $1 including an instance of 158 for $1 each. This is price manipulation at its finest.
The 30th Lugia price has gone completely vertical… and I think I found the post that started it.
I’m starting to think @giovanniponzii was behind the whole thing…
Which, honestly, is VERY Team Rocket of him.
First he tells everyone to check their Lugia for a star.
Then he says there’s “no reason” it should be under $2,000 by EOY.
Nearly ONE MILLION views later… Lugia starts taking off and the master plan kicks into full effect.
Now everyone’s checking their card for a star… or buying this thing like it’s Bitcoin in 2012. 😂

Still can’t believe wifey pulled the Sleepy Mew from the VERY FIRST pack of our second 30th ETB rip 😭😭
First-pack magic is real.
People should stop comparing the 25th Anniversary to the 30th like they’re the same set.
The 30th is simply a MUCH stronger set.
Maybe they both get printed into the ground.
But the 30th has:
18 Illustration Rares
10 SIRs
4 Brand New Futuristic Rares
30 unique Pikachu cards
30 Classic Collection cards
3 absurdly rare RGB Mews worth thousands
That’s a completely different level of chase depth than the 25th ever had.
Heavy printing can absolutely push prices down.
But assuming the 30th has to crash to the same floor just because the 25th did feels way too simplistic.
I’m sure someone already caught this…
but the Pichu and Ditto cameos in this Pikachu artwork are pretty cool.
I didn’t think Pokémon could make a Classic Collection card look better than the original…
Then I pulled this Gengar.
Those holo eyes might’ve done it. 🔥
All I’m saying is…
the people calling Futuristic Mewtwo ugly probably haven’t seen one in person yet. 🔥

When you really look at it…
there aren’t even that many singles listed yet from this “mass-produced” set.
The timeline is full of hits, but the actual resale supply still looks pretty thin.
Starting to feel like people are ripping everything… and keeping the hits. 👀
