Met a guy at the bar last night that works as a long-haul trucker. He said he's barely getting by. The Iran War has pushed up his fuel costs. His back hurts, but he has no healthcare. Even worse, AI might automate his job. I put my hand on his shoulder and said "Donald Trump has a poll on whether we should rename Artificial Intelligence to Superior Intelligence." President Trump went back and forth over the last few days on whether to join Saudi Arabia in conducting strikes against Ansar Allah (the Houthis) as the group, backed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, advances in its ground war and attacks Saudi territory.
Trump ultimately decided against joining Saudi Arabia despite pleas from the Saudi crown prince.
The Times reports that most of Trump’s advisers were either outright against joining the Saudis or deeply skeptical, given the current strain on U.S. military resources.
