struggling to come to terms with the scrapping of the Mercator projection and how it'll impact rhumb line representation, and what it means for my life & future, gnomonic or otherwise 😔
i love how in the Collider interview Ridley Scott casually mentions he pulled a gun on someone and had to make a citizen's arrest, and then refuses to elaborate. Of course that's something he'd do.
been on that Matt Johnson hype since way back. what fucking talent.
Please seek out and watch the mockumentary "Nirvanna the Band the Show" (@NTBTHESHOW)
It's really good, and Jurassic fans especially need to see the first episode

I made this gif from the raw .pngs I pulled from the old "MeetWalter" promotional site back in 2016, before they shut it down.
The attention to detail in the marketing around the androids David and Walter is probably the best of its kind. Gold standard stuff. I want more David.
me picking my outfit for opening night
Ridley Scott has confirmed to @latimes that a follow-up to ALIEN: COVENANT is officially in the works, and it'll be centered around Michael Fassbender's David.
The android will be creating a “brave new world for himself.”

Tim Curry, Catherine O'Hara, Brenda Fricker... it's never the person in Home Alone 2 that I actually hope dies
the replicants' eyes glowing in Blade Runner is a purely stylistic choice for the viewer. it's not happening in-universe. it's a non-diegetic cue.
apparently this confuses some boneheads and i can't fucking believe it.
bad things SHOULD be happening to Rockstar. they deserve it. they've treated their singleplayer fanbase terribly, with cancelled story-dlcs, going all-in on "shark card" online money-grab bullshit, greedy double-dip purchasing tactics... decades of goodwill squandered. fuck 'em.
aesthetics are the most powerful aspect of film and it barely gets a mention anymore. not by fans nor critics. it's fucking bizarre! it's the main vehicle of artistic intent but gets treated like an afterthought, if it's brought up at all
maybe i'm alone in this, but separate cells in Bethesda games don't bother me at all. entering a new dungeon or house or whatever, my brain just locks in like "i'm in here now" and the rest of the world is "outside".
never felt attracted to any of the new Evil Deads because they didn't seem to be what I loved about Evil Dead. thought i was alone in that, but i guess Bruce agrees
