ALT A closeup of beautiful fringed tulips in several shades of pink, displaying the soft, frayed edges of the petals.

ALT From the New York Botanical Garden, information about the flowers. It says, Fringed or Crispa Tulips feature petals with a serrated edge that may be the same color as the petal or contrasting color. Although tulips are native to the central Asian region, the tulip growing industry began in the Netherlands which remains the world’s largest tulip growing region, exporting two to three billion bulbs each year. Today there are fifteen groups of tulips that are recognized by growers, and it takes twenty-five to thirty years to bring a new variety to market.
