Got a faulty Nest from @Google and it’s such a pain in the ass to exchange. I was forced to change to a @googlenest 4. It’s not connecting correctly and it’s faulty

"This is what it’s like when a species prepares to depart for the stars. You don’t leave for the stars under calm and orderly conditions—it’s a fire in the madhouse at the end of time."
This was said by Terence McKenna 25 years ago. Things are going to get so weird that people will start talking about how weird it is.
Have we arrived at that time? Fire at the madhouse thread! (1/8)🧵

Sorry for quoting myself here...but I'm never sure who gets to read what around here.
This is the bottom line of this issue...for ALL OF US (whether you support or oppose Trump) you are allowing him to push a vision of a stronger President when the President already has far too much power. And unless we become a single-party state (a problem all its own) the OTHER SIDE will get to inherit these expanded powers (or expanded accepted interpretations of powers) too. So Trump is making sure a future Democratic president will have more power to impact your life. This is completely shortsighted on everyone's part. THREE CO-EQUAL BRANCHES of government.
Replying to @thatchthoughts
Add to that the most obvious point of all: any powers Trump expands Executive Authority to include simply makes the office of the President even MORE powerful (and the term the "Imperial Presidency" was coined a half century ago, and it's a much more powerful office now). So, imagine these powers in the hands of your worst nightmare president from the other side of the political spectrum, with weakened protections and checks and balances (because of Trump pushing the envelope now).
"What's good for the goose is good for the (political) gander". (The only way that doesn't happen is if we never get the other party in power again...and that's its own nightmare problem, is it not?).

Back in my day there was so much toilet paper and so much eggs that we gathered at night and threw them at the houses of our enemies.

If your Christianity causes you to be offended by someone asking the most powerful person in the country to be merciful towards the powerless, then you have deeply, deeply misunderstood the teachings of Jesus Christ.

I shed no tears for DEI dismantling - it was divisive, ineffective, and often weird. However, I do hope this does not empower bigots & assholes to make workplaces & schools awful for minorities with no consequences. Treating others with kindness, respect, & grace still matters.

On behalf the parents of the world I’m issuing an official Fuck You to the geriatric war pigs who managed to bring our planet to the brink of nuclear war. I hope you forget to bring fresh diapers to your bunkers and spend your last few miserable days wearing shit stained trousers.

Is it healthier to drink tap water and let the fluoride calcify my pineal gland or drink bottled spring water and let micro plastics settle in my balls?
