“Deeper life did not allow its members watch TV , now they allow” Today I have you people’s time. So what now happened???? No I really want to understand this whole TV talk you guys pull out whenever DL comes up on the TL. I hardly insert myself into denomination back and forth because it’s never for edification. It reeks of self, pride and people just being people and so I don’t touch it with a ten foot pole. Also sometimes, I see some truth in some of the critiques so I whisper a prayer for the body of Christ and leave it as is. But you see this TV one, I can never understand why you guys are always so riled up I was born in DL. We did not have a TV in my house till I was way into my teenage years. The whole idea was there’s a lot of corruption, lewd shows that promote sensuality and unbridled immorality As the Pastor of a church that is heavy on holiness and purity, members especially workers and leaders were strongly advised to not have television in their homes At the advent of technology and smart devices where people could now have access to those things, I’m guessing the Pastor realized that no matter how much he wants to preserve and protect his members, it’s up to them to chose what they watch or don’t Please where is the problem??? Was it a bit over protective? Yes. But did it affect us negatively??? Absolutely not Bro, there’s nothing about my life that says i am disadvantaged because I did not watch a few shows growing up I read books. We played. We interacted in actual life . I can stand toe to toe with my peers any day. Nobody has ever looked at me or those who didn’t watch and say “you look like someone who didn’t have a TV for a few years in their life” Is it a lie that television harbours a lot of evil? Like what are we even saying?? How many young people are struggling with porn and all sorts today because of what they watched? Even health professionals are beginning to tell parents to massively reduce screen time Nobody criticizes them o A father loves his children so much and wanted to shield them then you’re foaming at the mouth. Then he soft pedals when higher knowledge comes, should that level of growth not be applauded? If it was a church or a pastor that was just being religious then every law would be held till the end for fear of being seen as deviating DL like the rest of the body of Christ is not perfect. I am very critical about the things that can tend towards legalism. I admit that fully But you see this TV talk you all pull out like a trump card each time, die it abeg. It holds no water. Blessings.
