[Tokenomics Update] $ASTER Buyback and Burn Steps Up to 198%
Aster is upgrading its buyback so the platform's own activity both rewards stakers and sets $ASTER on a deflationary path.
Starting from 12:00 PM UTC today, 99% of Aster's daily platform fees buy back $ASTER. An equal amount of $ASTER is burned from reserve, matching the buyback one for one.
The bought-back $ASTER goes to stakers. Each epoch it is added to Loyalty Rewards (300K $ASTER base, plus the buyback amount), distributed to veASTER by lock weight.
The burn takes team allocation first. $ASTER launched with a total supply of 8,000,000,000. The burn continues until total supply reaches 3,000,000,000.
Buybacks run automatically via TWAP across each day and settle on-chain. The buyback and the burn are both public and verifiable:

I looked at 158 stock moves across 13 weekends on Aster. One pattern stood out:
🟢 67% of Sunday night perp signals were bullish.
📉 Yet 56% of the stocks opened lower on Monday.
Here's where it gets interesting:
• When stocks opened green on Monday, Aster perps had already pointed up 81% of the time.
• When stocks opened red, perps had only pointed down 44% of the time.
In other words, weekend traders were much quicker to anticipate upside than downside.
The stock market closes. Bullish sentiment doesn't.

Well, this post struck a nerve.
Calls for a "Black Monday" stock market crash are trending again. Last night, we took the opposite view.
As with every market prediction we make, there are thousands of people urging others to "fade" us.
But take a look at the chart below. It shows every time "Black Monday" has trended on social media since May 2025.
History suggests that calls for a "Black Monday" crash have repeatedly presented some of the best buying opportunities.
And as we outline in our analysis below, the majority of stocks in the S&P 500 have already experienced a bear market, EVEN AS the index trades near record highs; a largely unprecedented occurence.
