What is a blocker and dependency? If you can't start or finish work "because," "until," or "unless" something else happens: The blocker is that something else. The dependency is the who else.
Got Android or Chromebook? We are live with a native app on Google Play. Open the play store link on your phone and hit "Install" (then, 1) register, 2) create your own org, 3) invite others to your org, 4) solve Blockers and be awesome) play.google.com/store/apps/d…

Feedback, please. Looking for product messages (AKA adverts). Thoughts?
New feature: set the "opened at" date and time for blockers. Two use cases - 1. To add blockers in progress based on historical actual data 2. To create a blocker that becomes ACTIVE sometime in the future (dependencies, infrastructure, promise, etc)

Measuring what should have happened, but hasn't is just as important as measuring what did. Think of ways to understand gaps in data and if they indicate issues or improvement opportunity. That is why "Blocked" is based on quantifying lack of flow.

Need feedback. Too mean?

There is a lot (LOT) more waiting in our processes than hands-on time. Find it. Manage it. Eliminate it. What are YOU waiting for. (we are trying to come up with advertising messages, tell us if these resonate)
There are "Can't start" & "Can't finish" blockers in work committed to. Both reasons add to the customer experience of lead-time. Track them. Understand the days lost of both. Suggestion: Add a classification tag to blockers so you can filter by "can't start" "can finish."

For example, Can't start - "Need information" "need VM provisioned" and Can't finish examples are - "waiting for test environment" "waiting for legal approval of license text"
Drag and drop ordering of urgency is now live. It works by mouse, touch, screen-reader (can you help us test?), and keyboard. The goal was to allow changing urgency without opening a blocker to enable faster feedback "urgency has changed" so you can agree (and disagree) earlier.
We are working on drag and drop reordering of blocker urgency for open blockers. We are nervous about its use, for example, people reordering without reading the details. How should we restrict its use? Make it safer?

Updates: 1. Team heatmap axis fixes + some layout improvements 2. Default production team created (default on new blocker) to make it easier to get "started" as a single team (you don't have to choose the only team manually each time) Working on: Drag and drop urgency sorting.
Organizations are often swamped by tactical reasons work is blocked. You have to break that cycle of blocker thrashing by investment in elimination of the causes. Which ones? We help you know. By capturing and managing today's crisis we have the data to measure bang for the buck.

We are working on daily/weekly summary emails that highlight current most urgent blockers, successes (resolved blockers), opportunities (most impactful "days lost" blocker classification tags). Give us some ideas of what you would include and what channels you like (slack, email)
We want to solve "oh, I didn't realize that I was blocking you" and "oh, I didn't realize it was that urgent" - say no to forgotten blockers.

Thanks to all of our customers using the @Jira integration features. We have been steadily making improvements for different versions and configurations. Some of you have hundreds of custom fields. Go clean that up! Our logging is showing no errors in 24 hours! Whoo-hoo.

Of interest, the JIRA integration is being used slightly differently than we expected. This is exactly why you (us in this case) should release early. JIRA to @BlockedApp is "wanted more" than @BlockedApp to Jira. We released them in the opposite order. Yeah to learning.

Our marketing team is watching "WeWork" on @hulu - We just want to say "Blocked" is about building a community to fix delays in work for your organization. We build a community for eliminating blockers. How about it VCs - we deserve that $1B investment. Right? Softbank? No?
