i really thought blockjoy did an amazing job with @helium validators back in the day. easy to use and very fairly priced. i haven't tried BlockVisor 2.0, but I can only imagine it's even better today! try it and comment on your experience.

Ditch the cloud for @BlockJoyWeb3 . Stop letting companies like @awscloud crush your bottom line and give you bullshit discounts for long contracts. Having to pay for egress was invented by cloud compute companies to further pick your pockets. @chrisabruce and I started blockjoy out of necessity and our concepts hold strong to this day, especially in crypto.

Today a project that sits at the very start of the stack, as it's a supplier of raw blockchain data.
Let's look at their solution, features and benefits and see what they can do for you.

disclaimer
All of this is based off my best current understanding of the tech and the landscape, DYOR, and feel free to provide feedback.
background
BlockJoy is a supplier of raw blockchain data. Their tooling makes it easy to deploy dedicated RPC nodes on bare-metal servers.
This is the basic solution that RPC providers offer. Some of the big ones are @infura_io, @AlchemyPlatform, @QuickNode, and @POKTnetwork .
Originally these solutions were built out with a legacy stack of open source web2 data tools, such as Kubernetes and Docker.
BlockJoy rebuilt this stack in Rust, tailored to blockchain data. Because it’s a custom, web3 native solution this results in higher performance and efficiency.
solution
Using this solution BlockJoy can deploy and run nodes for you on their servers. Because they can efficiently run high numbers of nodes per server it becomes very cost effective.
BlockJoy built a hypervisor (software to run multiple virtual machines on one physical machine) that enables one-click node deployments to bare-metal machines (servers).
Monitoring, managing updates and failover recovery are all possible. They focus on private, dedicated nodes with no rate limits, which means high performance.
features and benefits
The nodes can be placed in any geo desired, which means optimal latency. Their data centers allow 10gbps with unlimited bandwidth.
BlockJoy runs a snapshotting service. Meaning, when deploying a new node it doesn’t have to download the entire blockchain history. It can work from the latest snapshot. This allows much faster deployment for new nodes.
Also, running on bare-metal means the costs are a fraction of what is charged by cloud providers or traditional RPC providers.
An additional option is that you still run nodes on your own machines using BlockJoy’s software. You use your own hardware but benefit from BlockJoy’s solution by facilitating and streamlining the process for deploying nodes.
clients
Consumers of this solution are any parties that need or can handle raw blockchain data. These can be explorers, APIs or wallets e.g.
Other consumers can be other data suppliers sitting higher in the stack, like say a Goldsky. Those take the raw blockchain data that BlockJoy provides and transform it.
Transforming basically means the data becomes easier to work. The data is now in a format that makes it suitable for analysis. Also it’s possible to only extract very specific pieces of data.
Another scenario is that other, bigger RPC Providers adopt BlockJoy’s solution. They might be willing but there are switching costs involved. BlockJoy has a strategy to solve this problem for RPC Providers over time.
b2b focus
This might be the first time you heard of BlockJoy. That’s partly because it sits so early in the data stack. This makes it much more of a b2b solution than a b2c brand. Plus the simple fact that it hasn’t been around as long as other RPC Providers.
interest
Eric gave me a quick demo and it looked incredibly easy to spin up your own nodes. Much of the technical intricacies were abstracted away.
BlockJoy is currently in beta. You can sign up on their website. Or reach out to @Eullrich.
