I am doing whatever it takes to get back into reading. Even if it means dropping $200 on steak and hanging out in a crowded bar to stay away from a keyboard.

My guitar lessons with this teacher have really stalled, though no fault of his. I love going in there and just singing, laughing, and strumming with the old man. The other day he thanked ME, and that made it even more worth it.

I still laugh at the fact that my boxing nickname at the gym was “bench press”… obviously I secretly loved it

I don’t care what anyone tells you, being OCD is not a fun time

They very likely just caught a leaker, yes.
Barium Meal Test? If you're not familiar with the term, it's a counterintelligence/espionage scheme in which you plant false/misleading information with a suspected mole by baiting them with something salacious enough to get them to pass it up their chain of command. The plan being to influence the response (in this case, the media running with the story as a 'gotcha!') and/or expose the compromised agent. In this case, causing the deep state's fake news media to run with it, proclaiming that 'Kash Patel was in Russia!' It was simply too juicy an opportunity for them to pass up... meanwhile, the truth was that Patel was speaking on a panel discussion at Liberty University in Virginia.

Ukraine says SpaceX has put new speed limits on military grade Starlink terminals without warning, disrupting some missions, according to multiple outlets. SpaceX hasn’t commented. The affected service is StarShield, a Starlink subscription for government and military use. The Journal reports Ukraine’s access runs under a Defense Department contract. A Pentagon spokesman referred questions to President Trump’s remarks on intelligence sharing. Zelensky adviser Serhiy Beskrestnov said the limit began overnight and forces got no warning. Accounts of the threshold vary. Beskrestnov and a Ukrainian defense ministry official point to about 160 km/h (100 mph), while Ukraine’s 7th Corps told Reuters connections dropped for 10 to 20 seconds at just 110 to 120 km/h. Units cancelled some missions. Per the Journal, drones can still fly but video feeds are less reliable, especially against moving targets, and they must fly slower to stay connected, making them easier to hit. Midrange drones are harder to launch, and Ukrainian officials say Starlink had recently helped Ukraine intercept Russia’s jet powered drones. Slower ground drones are largely unaffected. Drones flying over Russia were already barred from StarShield and use other guidance, so strikes on Russian oil and diesel production are unlikely to be affected, officials and defense executives told the Journal. The limit comes as Washington presses Kyiv to stop striking Russian refineries. Trump said Tuesday the U.S. is still sharing intelligence, after Zelensky said Kyiv received no warning ahead of a Russian missile attack. Source: wsj.com/world/europe/ukraine…

WSJ today had a story about the Houthis building a new missile with Chinese parts. Russia is resupplying missile stocks directly to Iran to compensate for the ones the U.S. destroyed or damaged. And Russia's provision of intel to the IRGC for targeting U.S. forces in the Gulf comes from his own intelligence community. The Gimp in "Pulp Fiction" had more self-respect than this guy.
If you’re going to lie, lie big Of course the families of service personnel killed by Iran with the help of Russia Intel and weapons will disagree

crazy to me that some of you are on the third day of complaining about children of low-income parents using EBT to go to the zoo for $9 when the US is currently spending billions to fight a war in iran

You’re laughing. Your uncle in the Rochester, NY suburbs just lost all of his online “friends” in a drone strike, and you’re laughing.

We’ve been talking about this for years. None of these far-right movements are organic.
If confirmed, this is telling: Russian data centres get hit, and online activity around AfD suddenly plummets. 📉 So much talk about German patriotism… then the connection from Russia goes down. 🤔🇷🇺

What a vulgar little charade. US Payroll reports since January 2025 have been revised lower in 16 of 20 months. The job market is weaker than the headlines suggest. And that’s just the BLS data. It’s disgraceful how long we’ve been dressing up a deteriorating labor market as economic strength.
JUST IN: US payrolls have been revised down by 793,000 jobs since the start of 2025

People are surprised that AI is finding weird unelegant maths results like this. I think there is a plausible explanation. Maths (and adjacent disciplines like physics and comp sci) had elegant results so far because humans are biased towards elegant solutions. I think this bias is due to how human minds work. We have a pretty small context window, and we are only able to find solutions that are relatively elegant. This gave us the impression that maths and the universe are elegant. Maybe they are not, and we are now finding out because we have intelligences that can work with much more complex solutions.
You can do Fourier transforms in O(N log(N)^0.9999999999999) time. Fuck this gay chud universe
