So excited to be speaking at the 2022 Better Transit Rally today at 11 AM in front of the NY Transit Museum. Stop by to hear from and meet the leaders of 5 transit initiatives vital to a better NYC!
Excited to speak about the #UticaAvenue line at @TechTransit7’s transit rally on Sunday by the @NYTransitMuseum. We will hold the @MTA accountable to expanding the subway into subway deserts. Hope to see pro-transportation equity people there as we demand change! #ReleaseTheStudy
On Monday, Black Mind will visit the @BrooklynTech_HS Black Student Union to recruit tutors for our summer 2022 SHSAT program. We hope some of NYC’s brightest youths choose to work with us as we connect Black/Brown middle schoolers with free private tutors/mentors for the exam.

Our community continues to be told about proposal and plans etc. now it’s time for actions. I am glad @NNickPerry sent this is out last year to @SecretaryPete. In order for this to work we need more voices. I tend to be that voice on a state, city and federal level.

This is exciting. Thanks to @NNickPerry for sending this letter 🙏🏾💯. I already do support also!! It’s been something I have been advocating for. Looking forward to continuing to do so at a different level soon 💪🏾⚡️. Our communities deserve better transportation options – at Chestnut Ridge, NY
We're proud to finally announce the support of NY Assemblyman @NNickPerry for the Utica Avenue subway extension! Black Mind hopes his successor will follow his lead in support of transit equity for all. @hercules_reid @OtisDanne You can support it too at change.org/UticaAvenue
Reading the journalistic record on the Utica Avenue subway expansion is so discouraging. Google it. Every other article talks about how unlikely it is. It is way easier for us to rationalize a future where Brooklyn’s Black neighborhoods are isolated than have transit equality.
On March 8th, we attended the @BKCB17 transportation meeting. The Utica Avenue study was the first agenda topic and an MTA rep.’s entire official update was that the study was not ready yet but would happen soon. 7 years and $5M later and this is all we receive. #ReleaseTheStudy
The MTA has a HUGE transparency issue. Until MTA study project leaders and team members’ names, along with monthly progress reports, are public information, neighborhoods in Brooklyn’s subway deserts are unlikely to see progress.
The infrastructure bill is about to be signed into law! This bill marks a new era for transportation equity across the United States. Projects such as the #UticaAvenueSubway extension are key to our mission of ending subway deserts in NYC.

Check out the new Black Mind summary on why we need the Utica Avenue subway extension: blackmindny.org/s/UTICA-AVEN…. This summer, we are making public art pieces to bring awareness to the need for this project, so creatives reach out! Call to all interested in transportation equity.
