Een eer om te horen dat onze @BlackGEM_Array telescoop wordt getoond en genoemd in de Tweede Kamer door minister Dijkgraaf, naast de @ESO telescopen met heel sterke deelname van @AstronomieNL NOVA
Kamerlid @LucStultiens vroeg tijdens de begrotingsbehandeling naar de telescoop die ik in Chili mocht openen deze maand. Door in Europees verband samen te werken lopen we als Nederland voorop in de sterrenkunde. Belangrijk voor de wetenschap en voor onze maatschappij.

As the team leaves again briefly and BG4 happily continues robotic observations it is good to see that some team members travel in style @navarrr
Even now they are officially opened, work continues of course. The team has decreased the read-noise in the images by a factor of almost 2 by better shielding of power cables. This requires 'diving' into the telescopes...

With immense sadness we have to report that the BlackGEM telescopes have collapsed, only two days after the inauguration by @RHDijkgraaf, @AstronomieNL, @RUastro, @IvS_KULeuven
