It’s time for me to show this place a tail lamp as I depart Twitter one last time.
I’ll leave the account open as I always intended it to be a place anyone could go to find something that would make them smile 🙂
A huge thank you to every one of you and especially those I was privileged enough to meet. Thanks for coming along with me and sharing my experiences as I became part of the railway family.
I can still be found on other platforms so hopefully I’ll see you there 😊

*Bing Bong* The train now standing at platform 2 is your non-stop service to Bluesky. Give me a 👋 if you’re on board 😊
Even if the entire world was crumbling I’m confident that we would still pause together for a moment on this day to honour those who died for our freedom. And that’s so very heartwarming 😊 #LestWeForget
Exciting news! There are vacancies for trainee drivers at various depots for GA right now!
This is a super rare chance to get the best seat on the train. It’s by far the best move I’ve ever made 🚂😊
If like me you’re starting to feel a bit uncomfortable on this platform (Twitter) but you want to keep getting updates from me then give the signaller a call and ask them to send you somewhere where the sky is blue…
Read between the lines and I’ll see you there 😊
Tis the spookiest night of the year! 👻 But just remember, most ghosts are the spirits of people lost trying to find the corner of a duvet cover for the bed.
Shunt in peace 🚂
There’s only one day left of my annual leave and I can’t help noticing I didn’t get any of the things done I had planned 🤔
But I did have some lovely adventures and made some great memories so I reckon that’s okay 😊
I’m doing really well on annual leave, haven’t thought about trains once! Watched plenty of films 🤔
Great St Trinians Train Robbery, Murder on the Orient Express, The Girl on the Train, Polar Express, The Train…
1 shift, 3 trips, 2 sausage rolls
That’s all that stands between me and my annual leave. Please send positive thoughts and green signals my way! Thank you 🙂
3 of my favourite things are:
Trains
Food
Allo Allo
When the amazing volunteers and staff at the North Norfolkland Railway combined the 3 they created an evening I’ll not forget.
I haven’t laughed so hard in ages!
Blimey it was chilly when I started this morning!
Still, as the saying goes; cold start, warm hands… or something like that 🤔
“A car is a rolling sneeze, a slice of selfishness. Whereas train travel can be the most perfect way of moving from one place to another.”

(A rolling sneeze! 😂)
Trainlett was on holiday so I thought I was in for a bit of a lonely day 😞
But then at my cab appeared, like a knight in high-viz armour, a freight driver who asked if he could join me to do some route refreshing!
A good time was had by all 😊
I was asked the other day, “what happens when you apply to be a train driver?” Just in case anyone else is wondering here comes a thread!
Now the steps will vary depending on which company you apply to join but here’s a rough guide to how it went for me 🤔
A company medical complete and you’re off to the trainee train driver training school!
Expect a few months of intense but fantastic training. You’ll learn everything from how to deal with emergencies to how to check a train is fit for a day in service 🚂
