According to Le Monde, citing sources, U.S. special envoy Witkoff held a tense meeting in Florida on October 9 with Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office. Sources claimed that Witkoff spoke to Budanov “like a child,” trying to “teach” him how to make money. Witkoff proposed a postwar “regional prosperity plan” that included fully restoring Russian oil and gas transit to Europe through Ukrainian territory. Witkoff argued that Ukraine would earn transit revenues while Europe would benefit from lower energy costs. Budanov reportedly replied that Ukraine’s model is “not Belarus, but Poland,” then stepped out to call President Zelenskyy, who advised him not to show any reaction. When the talks resumed, the Ukrainian side was shown a document outlining a U.S.-Russia diesel deal. An irritated Witkoff reportedly said: “Accept this diesel deal and stop striking Russian oil refineries — you are putting the world at risk!” Ukrainian participants were described as shocked, viewing the plan as creating dependency on Moscow and noting that the United States appeared to have secured nothing in return from Putin. A source close to the delegation told Le Monde: “I have never seen the Ukrainians so stunned and alarmed after a meeting.” Analysts contrasted the episode with the February 28, 2025 Oval Office incident, saying this one involves concrete policy decisions that could affect Ukraine’s ability to defend itself ahead of a potentially harsh winter. lemonde.fr/international/art…

Changes from the old to the new wording on the Iran page: Removed •The reference to the US–Iran memorandum of understanding (MOU) of 17 June •"Since 8 July" as the start date for the attacks •"There is a risk of more attacks and unforeseen escalation in the region" Added •"deeply unpredictable" (previously just "unpredictable") •"the risk of sudden escalation is high" (previously "a risk of more attacks and unforeseen escalation") •Iran has stated its intention to target locations associated with the US and Israel, "including, but not limited to, organisations, businesses, facilities, and institutions." This is entirely new. •Attacks are now attributed to "Iran and others" (previously only Iran) •The timeline now runs from "early 2026" instead of from 8 July Softened qualifiers •"periodic airspace closures" became "airspace closures" •"potential travel disruptions" became "travel disruptions" Wider audience •"British nationals currently in the Middle East" became "British nationals in, or planning to travel through, the Middle East." The advice now covers people transiting the region, not just those already there.

Barely a week before the election and the Strategic Petroleum Reserve has just released its last 100K barrels of oil. Pumping out anything more risks the salt domes collapsing from the water used to displace the oil dissolving the structures walls.

Bro's only 6, almost 7, months late to this... only reason the war is going to be in full force within a few weeks is because of Trump's utter weakness months ago. Definitely not going to prolong the conflict even further in the future as Iran believes he'll bitch out again
President Trump calls the ceasefire with Iran “a waste of time.”

Honestly I never want to see another defense white paper that lacks an anime force ghost child on the cover
Japan’s government has released its 2026 defense white paper (yes, this is the cover page). The document directly addresses Japan’s population-driven manpower shortages, drawing on lessons from Ukraine and pitching a force structure highly reliant on drone systems.

1/ The Trump Administration is said to have refused to extradite from Montenegro the arrested co-founder of the Russian Rybar blog, Mikhail Zvinchuk, despite its own $10 million bounty on its capture. It also reportedly blocked several European countries from extraditing him. ⬇️

We gave Russia renewed access to the diesel market in exchange for nothing. In turn, the Russians gave us Stephen Hubbard in exchange for nothing.

Hundreds of thousands more will die so Trump can boast about releasing one American before the midterms. When did personal politics become an acceptable defense of throwing national security under the bus? Disgusting.
The lesson to be learned from this is that if the US imposes sanctions on you, you should detain as many US nationals as possible on bogus charges, then gradually release them in exchange for sanctions relief or other concessions. Rinse and repeat.

There are pro-Ukraine voices in MAGA. But if you genuinely support Ukraine, you should be willing to hold Trump accountable rather than consistently shifting the blame onto everyone else. Claiming to stand with Ukraine while supporting him is mutually exclusive to me
Republicans are already projected to lose seats in both chambers. The rising cost of living and other socio-economic issues have already undermined the GOP, and cozying up to Russia will only tank its position more, even if it's a relatively minor issue for elections.

Russian milblogger Romanov says that the situation on the R-280 "Novorossiya" highway located in Russia-occupied parts of Ukraine has considerably calmed down in the last two days. "apparently a result of Starlink slowdown," Romanov claims. Until now, the traffic on this road has been constantly targeted by Ukrainian drones.

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph. The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries. ‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement. But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe. The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown. ‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.

Doubt there's a connection, but worth considering that "The List" was a prominent Terrorgram nazi channel/publication focused on sharing the doxxes of people/businesses and then direct calls to violence. Just worth thinking about, "pro 🇵🇸" is good cover optically today for nazis
A new direct action group in the UK 🇬🇧 calling itself "The List" says it targeted the homes of employees of weapons manufacturers that work with Israel's 🇮🇱 Elbit Systems. Specifically, it claims that over the weekend, it targeted the homes of the COO of Ultra I&C, the director of Keysight Technologies, and a key engineer at Leonardo UK.

How far the US has sank that Laura fucking Loomer is one of the few reasonable voices from the American right on this subject. I don't think many are on the payroll of Ukraine, but I would bet a whole lot that members of this admin are on the payroll of Russia
It’s crazy the way so many of us are being gaslit and told we are on Ukraine’s payroll for calling out Russian aggression and Putin’s lies. Do I live in another universe or was the entire GOP just cheering for Russian sanctions 1 month ago? Remember that? “Oh boo hoo Lindsey is dead. We are all so sad. Boo hoo. Russia bad. Boo hoo Lindsey Graham was such a patriot. Boo hoo.” That didn’t last very long. PS: How come the FBI still hasn’t released Lindsey Graham’s toxicology report after Russian and Iranian state media took credit for his death? Release the toxicology report.

Bulllllssshhhiiittttttt. The DoD has control over Starshield, it was Hegseth that chose to pull this shit in the past. Not SpaceX. For all of Musk's many disgusting actions, I would be surprised if this one was him. It doesnt help SpaceX to fuck with big Starlink/shield customers
White House officials told the Ukrainians they don't have control over SpaceX, the sources said. One of the sources said the Trump administration is going to reach out to SpaceX to figure out what happened

Russia wasn't dissuaded by the forceful actions... errrr, well forceful rhetoric, and nobody doing anything about it?!?! I'm shocked that Russia would continue to escalate actions, in the face of nothing, as they have been doing for many, many years. Absolutely shocked I say!
Tanker vessel YARA J, sailing under the flag of Comoros, has been struck by drones at the entry of the Sulina Canal, inside Romanian territorial waters, local media reports. This is the first such strike on a vessel inside NATO territorial waters.
