Democracy in Motion. 🗳️ #ElectionDay #MiamiDadeCounty Feeling so grateful assigned to cover the #Nov5th general election from Miami-Dade Elections Headquarters because this is one of my favorite views - the transparency of watching #VotebyMail ballots being scanned and tabulated.

You all remember when @meta removed dozens of my documentations of the genocide by claiming that it is a pornography and sexual content !
Here is an investigation by @ajplus showing the full story with one of meta employees who got fired for just doing his job.
My full solidarity and support to Omar who was unjustly punished for simply refusing to allow the censoring of the truth and the crimes committed against Palestinians!
This Meta engineer was fired after trying to fix the flagging of Gaza images as “pornographic.” @Dena reports

My mother’s cousin, who lives in Cuba, sent her an enormous, bigoted, and conspiracy-laden WhatsApp screed today on how Trump is America’s savior and the Democrats are all communists. Incredibly, the insanity that has rotten so many Cuban Americans’ brains has reached the island

This year, @ProPublica has been looking into the impacts of cities increasingly removing or “sweeping” encampments. We spoke with 135 people who had experienced sweeps. We also distributed notecards so people could write about it in their own words. 🧵

It was called “MapQuest” and we had to print the pages with directions to places before we left the house.

Sugar statues are supposed to be a metaphor for how something sweet and “innocent” has a deeply dark and painful history rooted in colonialism, slavery and the brutal treatment slaves endured to produce sugar for Europe.
So to see white people smile and lick them is very eerie.

THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED. In just the three weeks since the Apalachee High School shooting, schools across the country were forced to cancel homecoming parades, middle school dances, and Friday night football games after they received violent shooting threats. Some schools even had to close campuses due to low attendance. nytimes.com/2024/09/25/us/sc…

The takeaway for your brand should not be to create some conspiracy theory on your account with ominous videos. It’s that brands (and bosses) should stop cutting good social ideas short just because they don’t immediately find an audience. xitter.cf/aubsburr/status/183660…

The funniest part of this to me is that if she actually identified as a man the same people would be insisting she was a woman

“We should really have some kind of say over how [our pension] is invested,” said Emily Sun, a founding member of City Workers for Palestine and a rank-and-file member of DC 37, a union representing 150,000 city employees and 89,000 retirees.

I'm blown away by the fact that most people have moved on from the police failure when my son, his classmates, and teachers were killed at Robb Elementary in Uvalde on May 24'th 2022.
376 officers waited outside for 77 minutes!!!
Share this if you haven't moved on!

The full quote is important.
"It keeps you explaining, over and over again, your reason for being. Somebody says you have no language and you spend twenty years proving that you do" The distraction is in forcing us to prove we are good enough, civilized enough "objective" enough

Mohamed : I've buried them all at home – my wife, my children, my parents, my brother, and my sister. This is my spot now, I sleep beside them every night, all alone."

This article just encapsulates all of the stupidest things about politics. Biden tried to give black farmers loan forgiveness. Trump's top policy aide Stephen Miller sued to stop it because he said it was anti-white discrimination. He succeeded and the program was stopped.
This voter was so frustrated that the program was stopped, that he's gonna vote for Trump.
