One man/women can change the world at any moment
We have an ANOMALY. Whoever bought the bottom did it slowly. Possibly even a single whale. When it's many investors, you expect to see spikes in buying activity. That's happened every time across 17.5 years of Hodl Wave data except now.

A lovely bit of California baseball history!
Did you know there was a Wrigley Field in … Los Angeles? 😳 It’s true: In 1921, Cubs owner William Wrigley Jr. purchased the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League, and in 1925 built a ballpark The stadium hosted the Angels from 1925 to 1957

He is dead wrong. Under the gold standard, wealth meant building real legacy, not empty virtue signaling. Industrialists like Carnegie built 2,500+ libraries while others gifted schools and parks. Hard money forced titans to leave physical treasure for humanity.
Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong says donating to charity is net negative "The common view is that philanthropy is this noble cause, and Bill Gates is like 'I'm going to go rehabilitate my image and do philanthropy.'" "A lot of charities and philanthropies are actually net negative for the world and they get captured. It's remarkably hard to find a foundation that has not gotten captured by ideology.” “By trying to do something good, like criminal justice reform, it turns out they just increased crime. I have a donor advised fund and I put money toward things helping civilization advance, but I don't think at this moment I would ever create a foundation." "If you look at the Ford Foundation, I think Henry Ford would be turning over in his grave if he knew what they were up to.” “I have a DAF, a donor advised fund, and I just try to put money toward things that I think are helping civilization advance. But I don't think at this moment I would ever create a foundation."

Bitcoin-only Learn it.
Even when politicians and actors spend a full hour trying to conflate Bitcoin with crypto scams from SBF and Trump, they're learning they can't get away with outright lies. Thus, we got a not-horrible intro to Bitcoin partway through an otherwise useless conversation: @GavinNewsom: "The origin story... it goes back to this notion of the lack of trust in institutions, people hating banks. So the idea was... code not people. 2008, the financial crisis, perfect time to come out with a paper saying the system is broken, we have something more pure, better." @ben_mckenzie: "It says, wouldn't it be cool if we could have a form of money where we didn't need the banks? We could send money directly. Some form of digital money. This is an idea that had been floating around for a while, a bunch of cryptographers has been trying to figure it out. And the Bitcoin code does have some elegance to it. It has a capped number of Bitcoin that can ever exist. The rest of these cryptos really don't. Advocates will tell you that means it has value because it's scarce. There's only so much of it." You're getting there, fellas! Make sure to evaluate Bitcoin separately from the world of non-Bitcoin cryptoblockchaindefi. And don't forfeit your integrity just to pander to your base and donors. Bitcoin is for everyone.

Wall Street world is not the real world. Mainstream adoption still has not happened for this industry. Teams and leagues have been burned by everything that is a fraud, which is everything outside of Bitcoin. His take is grossly sensationalized and misleading. Bitcoin is a revolutionary piece of technology, and we are still struggling to grapple with its full implications. Nic Carter can claim all he wants that Bitcoin maximalism is dead, but that denies reality. Bitcoin continues to surpass all other digital assets, which are fraudulent because of their claims to be better than Bitcoin for whatever reason. Bitcoin is not only not fraudulent, but it is the only unique asset that is completely decentralized and independent of government or corporate capture. The empirical protocol and game theory have perfectly positioned Bitcoin to continue to improve the lives of those who truly embrace it.
Bitcoin succeeded beyond its creators’ wildest expectations. The maximalist ideology built around it did not.

A response to ‘toxic maximalism’. We are actually not toxic enough, and that is why new people are not coming in. More Bitcoiners have to agree in unison that all of these Bitcoin wannabes exist to harm the network and give people the ability to question the scarce nature of digital assets itself. The general public and the mainstream are interested in Bitcoin, but they are turned off because of all the frauds, pump and dumps, and scams in the broader market. The more that Bitcoiners call them out, drive all liquidity out of them, and generally continue to shame the scammers, the more the mainstream will actually feel welcomed.

A response to his point on the protocol being calcified. Stability is not the worst thing to have for a store of value. However, the protocol and stakeholders are always willing to have a debate if someone can propose something truly beneficial for all participants in the network. I just think it is a skill issue you and your friends are having proposing upgrades. It is a skill issue. Do better. Don't cry to the maxis because you are proposing bad ideas. Level up.

You're telling me that the current strategy of getting extremely butthurt at mild criticism and calling people stupid is *remarkably* not working?
We’ve got exclusive new polling on local data center development at @heatmap_news. Over the past year, we’ve asked Americans whether they would support or oppose a data center being built near where they live. We haven’t changed the wording. When we first polled the question a year ago, Americans were split 43-42 on support/oppose. When we asked again in Feb, a bare majority opposed data centers. Today, 75% of Americans say they would oppose a data center being built near where they live, and 61% said they would “strongly oppose” such a proposal. It’s a swift, massive shift in US public opinion on a scale that I wouldn’t have once thought possible. More details, including the party ID & rural/urban breakdown, in my new story: heatmap.news/daily/data-cent…
