Just In 🗣️🔉 Nigeria 🇳🇬 is hosting Africa’s first “Bitcoin Educator’s Academy” in a time when Bitcoin self custody is being debated due to the recent hack on COLDCARD. Program organizer @DigiOats and @AmityAge give full details below ⬇️.
🇳🇬 BIG NEWS: Bitcoin Educators Academy is coming to Nigeria. AmityAge, in partnership with @DigiOats, is bringing Bitcoin Educators Academy (BEA) to Lagos, a 3-day intensive program designed to build the next generation of effective Bitcoin educators, communicators and leaders. 🎤 Public speaking 🧠 Simplifying complex Bitcoin ideas 💬 Handling objections & misconceptions 🎯 Persuasive presenting ⚡ Pitching ideas with clarity 📊 Building presentations people remember This isn't a conference where you sit and listen. Only 10 participants will be selected. Small enough for everyone to speak, practice, receive personalized feedback and improve. 📅 October, 2026 📍 Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria ( Full info for selected applicants ) 👨‍🏫 Lead Educator: @dusan_matuska , designer of BEA 💰 FREE for selected participants, thanks to a grant from the @HRF (Human Rights Foundation). Regular value: $390 in sats. BEA is designed for people who already have at least a basic understanding of Bitcoin and already teach, speak, build, create, organize or lead in some capacity. Because whether we call ourselves educators, developers or not, we are all microeducators. Nigeria, it’s time. 🇳🇬⚡ Application: forms.gle/7KiW3DMT43FGX6x38 #Bitcoin #BitcoinNigeria #BEA #DigiOats #AmityAge

Africa Free Routing Lightning Dev Bootcamp Continues in Kampala, Uganda 🇺🇬 🔥
Day 4 of the Lightning Developer Bootcamp in Kampala ⚡️🇺🇬 We started the day by shifting focus from learning to building. After going deep into Bitcoin and Lightning over the past few days, it was time to put everything into practice. Participants began building on Lightning, exploring how the concepts they’ve learned can translate into real applications. Then we moved into something just as important. Open source contribution. Our instructor, @dzeg5, walked participants through the full process step by step. From understanding how open source projects work, to finding issues, making changes, and submitting contributions. Everything was broken down in the most practical way possible. And most importantly, participants didn’t just watch. They did it. Each participant made their first open source contribution, starting from the basics and going through the full flow themselves using @btrust_builders open source guide. We are excited to see what each group will building tomorrow for the hackathon. @HRF @OpenSats @Tether_Africa @planb_network @afribitcoiners @GorillaSats @BitDevsKLA

In #bitcoin, we’ve normalised agents being able to make payments and hold money, but we massively underestimate how profound this is. Doing the same with fiat is incredibly complicated, almost impossible. The R&D we are unlocking by taking this power for granted is huge.
