day 3: bitcoin frogs 🐸 had to give one of the OGs a spot in this series. @BitcoinFrogs launched on march 8, 2023, bringing 10,000 frogs to bitcoin through a free mint. the idea started with @Frogtoshi_ wanting to put 10,000 frogs on bitcoin. working with deezy, that idea became a collection. but the launch had a little chaos along the way. a layering error meant early frogs appeared with their clothes behind their bodies. people called them “naked frogs” 😂 the team corrected the artwork and sent collectors the replacement frogs. a pretty memorable beginning. another detail i like: the creators designed the traits within each layer to have equal rarity, encouraging people to pick the combinations they personally enjoyed. that fits how i like to look at art. this one has gold shades, bubblegum and a tie. simple pixels, plenty of personality, and a place in the early history of ordinals. ribbit 🐸
