Someone’s experience of God’s love may begin with your welcome, your kindness, your willingness to say yes.
On this Mission Sunday, we look out
towards the needs of the world and we recognise that the call to serve reaches right into our own parish.
Through Baptism, each of us is called to share in the mission of Jesus: to bring hope, to offer compassion, to make God’slove visible. Every one of us has something to give. Every one of us has a place in that mission.
Our parish comes alive through people: those who proclaim the Word and share in the ministry of Communion; those who make music, nurture faith, care for our church
and welcome people through its doors; those who visit, listen, encourage and quietly notice when someone is missing.
Through these ministries, a stranger finds belonging, a child discovers faith, a grieving person finds comfort, and someone who feels forgotten knows they matter.
We give thanks for all who already serve, often quietly and without recognition. Their generosity reminds us that a welcoming, caring parish is something we build together.
What gift could you bring? What ministry might be calling you?
You do not need to have all the answers. A willing heart, a little time and the courage to take a first step can be the beginning of something that matters deeply. Whether you are new to the parish or have been here for years, there is room for you to take
part.
In serving alongside others, we find friendship, deepen our faith and discover more of what it means to belong.
This Mission Sunday, pray about how you might share your gifts. Speak with a member of the parish team about taking part in a ministry.
The mission of our parish is entrusted to all of us. Your part matters.

St. Gall who is celebrated today is closely intertwined with the story of St. Columbanus. They would have met at Bangor. Travelled together evangelising continental Europe until they parted ways at St. Gallen in Switzerland. Today a most exquisite library there is home to an extensive collection of documents and manuscripts of his time. Some of them made their way on the powerful ‘Words on the Waves: Ireland and St. Gallen’ tour to @NMIreland @KANDLEi @theway_ie
Today marks the 444th Anniversary of the death of St. Teresa of Avila who has left us a treasure of spiritual gems including her well known prayer: ‘Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you, all things are passing away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things, whoever has God lacks nothing; God alone suffices’ @KANDLEi @theway_ie
