I just want to remind everyone that 88% of trans inmates in Canada are sex offenders. Only 11% of Canada’s non-trans male inmates are sex offenders, by the way, so we’re talking about a group of men who are literally 8x more likely to be sex offenders than the general male prison population. That’s who the Canadian government has decided to put in cells with some of the country’s most vulnerable women.
If you think that this predilection for sexual offending doesn’t also carry over to the non-incarcerated trans population, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to put down the crack pipe, because only a crackhead could seriously believe that.
Trans-identifying men are paraphiliacs, and paraphiliacs are some of the most dangerous men on the planet. Studies have found a 20% rate of transvestism in sexually sadistic criminals, and a 40% rate of transvestism in sexually sadistic murderers. One study found the rate of transvestism in sexually motivated killers to be as high as 54%, and everyone reputable who has seriously studied the subject has found a high frequency of genital and gender dysphoria in the perpetrators of sexually motivated violence, with an even higher frequency among sexually motivated murderers.
In short, these men are dangerous, and the ones who are incarcerated are the absolute last people who should ever be locked in cells with women.

So why aren't you allowing me to use a female-only space, as that is the space I feel most comfortable in?

Then where are the spaces for "nonbinary" individuals or individuals of any of the other 50 or so "gender identities"? Where are the spaces for people like myself (and the majority of the human populace) who don't have a "gender identity"?
"A sign won't stop men from attacking women if they want to do so"
Then there is also no need for men pretending to be women to use the women's for their 'safety,' as men who want to attack them will do so anyway.
"There are stalls, so bathrooms are private"
Then men pretending to be women will have that same privacy in the stalls in the men's room.
"How would you enforce that?"
Social contract, and if we see someone walk in who is obviously male, we get security or call the police. There is no way to "enforce" spaces based on "gender-identity" since that is based entirely on a person's say-so.
"Would you want someone like this (shows woman on T) in the bathroom with you?"
Those women can already use the women's room. Actual men who look like that can also use the women's room as well, so that's a moot question.

Absolutely, as are you. I would just like spaces segregated by sex and you would like them segregated by sex with exceptions for men and women who pretend to be the opposite sex.
And the left wants him to use the women’s bathroom.
Transwomen are men regardless of how much effort they’ve put into feminizing their appearance.

Allowing male prisoners into what used to be female-only spaces has fundamentally “changed the landscape of women's prisons,” says Heather Mason (@Mason134211f), a former federal inmate turned advocate for women’s sex-based rights.
Mason’s time in correctional institutions has given her first-hand knowledge of a jarring reality: that biological males in Canada are allowed to self-identify as women and then serve their time in women’s prisons – even when these men are convicted sex offenders who have not undergone any surgical changes related to the female identity they claim.
Mason knows from experience why this poses such a grave danger to the women incarcerated in these institutions. Female inmates are an exceptionally vulnerable population. Many have histories of experiencing domestic violence, sexual abuse, and coercive control at the hands of men.
That’s why an organization that Mason helped to co-found, Canadian Women’s Sex-Based Rights (CAWSBAR) @cawsbar, is pushing back. The group has launched a federal court case challenging the policy that gives male inmates free rein to enter women’s prisons based solely on self-identification.
To share her first-hand experience and discuss the coming legal battle, Mason joins Inside Policy Talks.
On the podcast, she tells Peter Copeland (@CopelanPeter), acting director of domestic policy at MLI, that for as long as the current policy continues, female inmates in Canada will be retraumatized and revictimized when they are incarcerated alongside men.

I don’t talk about addiction as an abstract policy issue. I lived it.
At 17, I was struggling with addiction and living on the streets of Vancouver. I know what it feels like to be cold, hungry and exhausted, and still have drugs matter more than anything else. I also know there were times when I was simply not capable of making decisions in my own best interest.
But I also know what recovery can make possible.
Someone believed I was capable of more. I found purpose, went to treatment and began rebuilding my life. Today, that life is almost unrecognizable.
That’s why I will never accept that leaving people trapped in addiction is compassion.
Every person we see suffering on our streets has a story that isn’t finished yet. Sometimes compassion means intervention. It means treatment, recovery, responsibility, connection and purpose.
Keeping someone alive matters. But keeping someone alive is not enough. We need to give people a way out.
I found mine. I want every British Columbian struggling with addiction to have the opportunity to find theirs. I’ll have a lot more to say on this in the coming weeks.

Braiden Bell is one of the best, most authentic, and genuinely great dudes not just in our industry, but on the planet.
