the nsa's "mystery" seed behind P-256 was just a 1997 clock time the part people are missing: a timestamp only gives ~30 bits of wiggle room the backdoor theory needed ~70 best case outcome. the most trusted curve on the internet stays trusted

interpretability might be the most important scientific problem in the world right now, as I don't think we can solve alignment if we don't know what we're building. I think I have good news about it. I co-authored early work in mechanistic interpretability at OpenAI and came away pessimistic, because neural networks appeared to fold into arbitrary tangled knots. years later, I started openai's first large-scale automated interpretability project, finding about 2% of neurons legible with the primitive tools we had with modern agentic tools and a much closer look, the picture looks totally different. the vast majority in models up to trillions of parameters are legible, and their circuits beautiful. many famous examples of tangled neurons turned out to be misunderstood. The roadblocks I expected mostly aren't there. I now think ambitious interpretability will be solved by the time we need it most, and possibly quite soon, as automated scientists keep improving. it may be a bitter lesson for interpretability: the simple thing, at absurd scale, works already-clean.goodfire.com/

I like the speed. It's another day, another model. I have a pattern. As soon as I hit the ceiling with models and cannot finish with existing capacity, I touch the grass for a day or two instead of grinding hard to break the wall. Boom! In a few days a new model is cracking these tasks in a few prompts like a nutcracker.
Introducing Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in our new Claude 5.5 family. It performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.

Gamers kinds can be future 15 yo metaverse masters :). One side “interesting original thoughts” and the other side “captain obvious”
A kid who knows how to raid in WoW is unironically a better hire than 99% of non gamers. They develop team skills, coordination, leadership, how to master the respect of 40 people, how to share loot, maintaining a raid schedule, showing up on time, clear direct communication, how to get along with unique personalities, creating and executing on strategies, failing and trying again (perseverance), delayed gratification, etc. Invaluable skills are developed during raiding that are transferrable to the real world.

nice tokenization liberation on it way huge step for defi
Rumor mill saying the SEC is getting ready to make its biggest ruling on tokenization yet with an innovation exemption relief allowing tokenized securities to trade solely with a transfer agent. No broker dealer license and no exchange rules for US retail and foreign investors is what we’ve heard. Would be massive for onchain finance.

What is happening 🤯 btw where is my alstra? when astra rollout on my account?
We’re sharing a solution to the Navier-Stokes Millennium Prize Problem, one of the deepest problems at the frontier of mathematics. The proof was produced by a group of agents, using an OpenAI next-generation model significantly more capable than GPT-6 Astra. The problem concerns whether the description of smooth three-dimensional fluid motion modeled by the Navier-Stokes equations can break down. It has remained unresolved for roughly 90 years.

Nice feature but too late for my harness setup.
New in Claude Code: your sessions can now message each other. Instead of having to re-explain yourself in another session, you can now tell Claude to do it. It sends a summary (not your history or files), and the other session picks it up mid-task.
