There is something about opening a birdhouse with expectations of activity, BUT TO FIND FRESH HATCHLINGS IS JUST AMAZING. #nevergetsold @NativeBirdBoxes @FGCSA @BirdsofTurf

Thanks to my new phone camera I was able to get some good pictures. Although he did let me get with about 10-15’ when I made my pass on the greens mower. @BirdsofTurf #golfcoursewildlife – at Missouri, USA
Hmmm, so we really thought it was a crossbill (because we saw a crossed bill😅), but when we enlarged the photo to see the white mark, we realized that might have been a corner of a seed on the ground. 🤔
We will have to put our heads for a bit longer. 🐥
Thank you for sharing, Mr Wright! This is probably a red crossbill.
We know, we know, what’s so red about this?! This is a female one and they are dimorphic. ☺️
A staple bird of turf and a VERY different kind of #BirdsOfTurf !
A great way to start the day birding with @StephenTucker7 at @FourSeasons @FSOrlando Eastern Bluebird posing then shared she had 4 eggs to the Flying Squirrel colonies! @GCSAA @FGCSA @BirdsofTurf @FloridaTGA #orlando #orlandogolf #golfcourse
We cannot stress this enough: FREE CHILD LABOR. Wait, no, sorry, we mean, HANDS-ON STEM EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY! 💪💪💪
(Or someone’s got to teach the rest of the raptors about the HOA)
Great horned owls doing their thing stealing nests 😅
(That’s why @BethpageGolf @Greensideup17 and his team put up human-made nests for these bandits so they leave the red-tails alone. Only minimum child labor needed)
