Where have we been all summer? We have been very busy taking care of many critically ill patients. These Long-eared Owls fell from their nest. Both are doing well and practicing their hunting skills. #birdsofprey #longearedowl #Owlet #owl #coloradowildlife #wildliferehab

It's baby #GreatHornedOwl season! This time of year young owls are coming out of their nests. Most often they cannot fly for days or even a week. If left alone they will often try to find a good hiding spot, or even climb up a tree. If you're concerned an owl is injured, call us!

Come spend an evening at the @TheMeltingPotCO in Louisville to support Birds of Prey Foundation! With the purchase of the following menu on April 16-19 from 5p-8p, a portion of the proceeds will go to support Colorado’s injured, orphaned & ill birds of prey. #FondueEffect

This young #BaldEagle came to the foundation after leaving her nest. She was on the ground and was attacked by a coyote and sustained injuries to her face from the attack. After months of recovery, rehabilitation, and regaining strength she was released back into the wild!

This young Turkey Vulture was admitted a few weeks ago with lead poisoning. His lead levels are coming down quickly and he is doing well. Turkey Vultures admitted most commonly have lead toxicity- often from ingesting lead from shot or fragments in carrion. #TurkeyVulture

This Northern Saw-whet Owl was found on 11/15. One of the most common causes of admissions of Saw-whet Owls is head trauma from collisions with windows. Birds with head trauma often cannot care for themselves initially, and need help eating. This will improve with time and care.

The Birds of Prey Foundation has cared for over 16,000 birds since it's inception in 1982. #Wildliferehab #FerruginousHawk #BirdsOfPrey
