I just love this one: "Ukraine, don't antagonize Trump." Listen -- from the very first day of his return to the White House (and even long before that), Ukraine has indulged his every whim and gone along with every one of his insane plans. It has dutifully catered to his grotesque craving for the most nauseating flattery and joined everyone else in massaging his monstrous ego, singing in chorus the praises of his incredible leadership, talent, power, and divine beauty. Ukraine, and Zelensky himself in particular, has turned a blind eye to and endured countless humiliations, insulting antics, idiotic outbursts on Truth Social, and hysterical spectacles like the Oval Office showdown. Ukraine has unfailingly supported 100% of his ridiculous, nonsensical, and downright idiotic imaginary "ceasefires," which Putin couldn't have given less of a damn about. And yet Ukraine had to listen, over and over again, to accusations that it "doesn't want peace," responding to every such outrage with yet more praise for Trump and bending over backward to appease him, desperate not to give him the slightest excuse to accuse it of being "uncooperative." Meanwhile, Putin has spent all this time amusing himself, making a complete fool of Trump in front of the entire world, and openly spitting on every one of his frantic diplomatic maneuvers. We've been living in this madhouse, where night has become day and day has become night, for almost two years now. And what? How's that working out? What has all of this accomplished? More slaps in the face, and ultimately, Donald Trump's complete and final betrayal and his active decision to side with the Russian aggressor. And somehow it's Ukraine that's "antagonizing" someone? At least have the decency to stop hiding behind this laughable victim-blaming and your invented alternate realities, and just come out and say it: "Just fucking die, all of you Ukrainians, so our idol can line his pockets with Kremlin money."

Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin. apnews.com/article/russia-sa…

Imagine 1941, when German aircraft were bombing British cities, Europe was under the Nazi boot, and Churchill was desperately trying to save his country from Hitler's onslaught. And then, at that very moment, US President Franklin Roosevelt suddenly announces that the main problem is not Hitler, who is occupying foreign territories and killing people, but the stubborn British, who simply refuse to agree to a peace deal. Worse still, they keep bombing German industrial facilities, damaging the economy of the Third Reich and creating difficulties for international trade. The American president is terribly outraged. After all, his voters need cheap fuel, the economy needs stability, and he himself needs good approval ratings. So instead of helping Britain, he calls Hitler, negotiates the supply of German goods, proposes easing economic restrictions, and threatens to cut Churchill off from weapons and intelligence unless he stops destroying German industry. And to finally persuade the Führer to come to the negotiating table, American mediators even propose returning some of Germany's frozen state assets. All in the name of peace, naturally. And, of course, for the sake of the American economy, which should not have to suffer simply because some stubborn British people refuse to surrender. Now try to imagine what history textbooks would look like if Roosevelt had actually behaved this way. What if he had called Hitler a wonderful negotiating partner, demanded that Churchill surrender territory, and simultaneously tried to convince Americans that Germany needed to be allowed to make money because otherwise it would refuse to make peace? What if, instead of Lend-Lease, Britain had received an American ultimatum: stop bombing German factories because we need to lower prices before the elections? What would we say about such a president today? Would we call him a brilliant negotiator who was simply protecting his country's economic interests? Or would we say that, for his own benefit, he was helping the Nazi war machine while simultaneously depriving its intended victims of the means to defend themselves? Fortunately, history took a different path. Roosevelt secured the passage of the Lend-Lease Act, and the United States began providing massive assistance to the countries resisting Hitler even before America formally entered World War II. But today, watching Donald Trump's actions, I increasingly find myself wondering what Europe's fate would have been if a politician with the same attitude toward aggression, human lives, and personal profit had occupied the White House back then.

How does presumably Musk's decision to limit Starlink for Ukraine bode for future Starlink sales to foreign militaries? I would think they will run a mile.

Hey, @elonmusk, big man, are you playing politics with your products again? As your European customers, we are watching you.

Russians have recently been complaining en masse about poor-quality diesel fuel and equipment breakdowns. Diesel fuel is being diluted and quality standards are not being met. Diesel fuel standards in Russia and the United States are not identical. Russian diesel is not certified to meet U.S. standards and is unlikely to undergo certification. If Russian diesel ever makes its way to the United States, good luck to anyone who puts it in their vehicles.

The fact that Republicans are accusing Ukraine of interfering with US elections by attacking a MOSCOW, RUSSIA data center, kinda says it all doesn't it? You'd think they'd be over-the-top pleased. Repuclicans are fucking traitors.

The Line Has Been Crossed. Act Like It. For ten years Europe has treated Trump's affection for Moscow as a personality quirk, something to be managed with flattery, state dinners and a larger order for American jets. That era of polite self-deception is over. A president who funds the aggressor and starves the victim has answered the question of whose side he is on, and anyone still waiting for more evidence is not being cautious but is simply afraid of the conclusion. Ukraine must plan as though American support is gone and American pressure is coming. Any deal drafted in Washington should be read as a deal drafted in Moscow, and Kyiv has every right to refuse a peace designed by two men who want it to lose. Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand should take no comfort in distance. A president who trades away Ukraine for cheaper diesel will trade away Taiwan for less, and their security guarantees are worth exactly what his word is worth. The democracies of the Pacific and the Atlantic need to bind themselves to each other directly, in arms, intelligence and trade, with Washington outside the room. The playbook already exists, because we wrote it for Russia: reduce exposure, close dependencies, sanction the enablers, and wait for better leadership while preparing for it never to arrive. America may return to us one day. Until then, we treat Trump's United States as what it has chosen to be.

I’m an American and a supporter of President Trump. I have been from the moment he came down that escalator in New York City and announced his candidacy. From the beginning, I’ve watched him take abuse and wicked assaults on his character and on his person that would never have been launched against anyone else. His courage in the face of those relentless onslaughts, which would have downed literally anyone else in politics, has been breathtaking and inspiring. He’s the only candidate whose opponents’ derangement drove up my support for him with every new excess. I don’t typically give to political campaigns, but I gave to Donald Trump – when the Democrats went more nuts, I sent more money. I support President Trump on securing our border. I stand with the President on Israel, and in his opposition to the vile antisemitism sweeping through our politics and our culture. I applaud the President’s defense of the rights of the unborn. In those and so many other ways, I am unashamed in my support of President Donald Trump, and I’m MAGA to the core. Love me or hate me, that’s where I stand. I’ve not liked everything the President has said, and as a Christian, there have been times I wish he had spoken and acted differently. But he was elected to be my president, not my pastor, and if the alternative is the Democrats and their unholy crusade to unmake America, well, I’ll stick with Trump. Not to get carried away with my own importance – politically, I’m no one – but if the President were to lose someone like me, I’m not sure who he can keep. I say that because tonight, as I lay in bed unable to sleep here in Moldova, just an hour’s drive or so from the Ukrainian border, I am appalled at the action my President has taken on the importation of Russian diesel. Putting money in Putin’s pocket so he can attack and murder more Ukrainian civilians in their beds, just hours from my own, is wrong, Mr. President. It’s a political calculation ahead of the midterms, and it’s a callous, heartless one that I pray you rethink quickly. I come to Moldova a lot, and America has done so much to help this small but beautiful nation. Its people deserve our support and our prayers. If Ukraine falls, so will Moldova; that’s just a fact. A policy that betrays them and lionizes Putin isn’t just wrongheaded. It is an evil policy, and it will get innocent men, women and children killed. Worse still, at least one senior administration official has pointed the finger at Ukraine. UN Ambassador Mike Waltz went on Fox and pointed to Ukraine’s strikes on Russian refineries as a reason diesel prices are high. True enough, but so what? It’s one of the few ways Ukraine can hit back at the nation that invaded it. If America were fighting this war, we’d flatten every refinery we could reach. Putin is a bully. Putin is a thug. He’s the one who started this war, and no amount of equivocation or fatuous guff about who provoked whom can justify his tyranny and murderous campaign of terror in this region. Putin is the only reason this war continues, and the very one who could end it with a word. That’s not on President Zelensky, or the Ukrainian people, or the people of every nation in this part of the world living under threat from this fiend. This war, and the death, mayhem and suffering it is causing, is entirely of Putin’s making – period. I have prayed for President Trump for years, and I will absolutely continue to do so. I’m sure he will never read this, but if he needs to know, I love him, I pray for him, and I ask God to guide him in what is the hardest job in the world. That’s exactly what makes this so painful: this policy comes from a president I love. He is wrong on this issue, and it’s a fatal error that I pray he remedies at the earliest opportunity. I pray God blesses President Trump, and I pray God blesses America. But I sincerely believe that the policies being pursued toward Ukraine right now are not something God can bless.

Let’s say you wanted to construct the most dangerous possible man. How would you do it? You would start with someone naturally stupid, but not so stupid they can’t perform. You’d place them in a privileged family with sociopathic parents who provided no emotional attachment. You’d have them be the second son of a father who rejected his first-born as weak—to the point he committed suicide. You’d raise him to be cruel. You’d introduce him to sadists like Roy Cohn. You’d model belittling women, minorities, and anyone less privileged. You break him down until everyday sadism becomes his lifestyle. By adulthood, you’d have a fully formed malignant narcissist, a psychopath so consumed with his own superiority that he believes everyone is out to get what he has—a paranoid, Machiavellian sadist with no empathy and no morals. You’d give him access to criminals like Jeffrey Epstein who cultivated his sexual sadism and collected compromising information. You’d send him to Moscow to get brainwashed by Soviet intelligence. You continuously feed his narcissism by ensuring he’s rescued from every situation—as if by magic. You’d make him feel legally and financially invulnerable by letting him get away with crime after crime, fraud after fraud, and six bankruptcies. You’d rescue him from the sewer of his life by giving him a prime time TV show based on his narcissistic self-image—a show which celebrated his cruelty as business acumen. You’d let him get away with colluding with a foreign power to steal a presidential election. You’d let him get away with a violent insurrection to try to hold on to power when he lost. And you’d stand by for four years while he plotted to come back and take his revenge. However, you haven’t quite completed the path to the worst possible man, although you have achieved a rare feat. You have successfully created a messianic narcissist with the nuclear codes. Great start! But you must take things one step further: you must give him frontal lobe dementia and drain from his brain any remaining ability to reason, make judgements, or take advice. This will destroy his ability to understand the consequences of his actions. His salience network will be disintegrated, making it impossible to tell what matters—even to himself. You’d surround him with people incentivized to conceal his incapacity to function. You’d fill the federal government and the Pentagon with deviant psychopaths who are perfectly happy to exploit his disorders for profit, ideology, and enjoyment. And then you would create a global emergency of his own making. You’d have him repeatedly fail at everything he tries and have his popularity plummet to historic levels. You’d have him be mocked by the entire world. Finally, as a last straw, you threaten him with losing an election by a monstrous landslide. That’s how you get the most dangerous man in the world.
