"The problem of failing to distinguish between postdiction and prediction is vastly underestimated in practice. Researchers may conduct lots of studies and test many possible relationships.

Moreover, researchers have substantial degrees of freedom to conduct many different tests, and selection of those that yield positive results over those that yield negative results will increase the likelihood of attractive results at the expense of accuracy."

At first it seems trivial somehow, but even finding this in articles needs a close attention.

Profile of Dr. Dumas in Mila is of course striking: Neuroscience, Medical Machine Learning, AI Ethics, these three keywords were more than enough for me to read his recent publications and try to understand more. Amazingly, the more I read, the more I became interested.

Although it has not been a long time since I strated to do some research and codings under supervision of Dr. Dumas, I have learned a lot. Thanks to him, I can now explain confidently what I want and what I am going to be.

I believe I am on the right track. This is just the beginning. Maybe it takes more time than I expect, but when you find the right path the rest will be a challenge. I mean our whole life is a test of courage and of course determination. @introspection mila.quebec/en/person/guilla…
