Two torn ACLs. An older prospect. A mid major background. Undrafted. Isaiah Crawford had nearly every red flag NBA scouts look for. Yet he’s on an opening night NBA roster while several former first round picks are out of the league. His story is worth telling nbabigboard.com/p/what-an-un…

Big thanks to @PJFertitta for stopping by for an extended conversation today on #TheATeam! He’s pumped and extremely optimistic about the upcoming 2026-27 @houstonrockets season and we can’t say we blame him at all. Check out the full interview here: youtu.be/O2Kw-VoxZ88?is=YSod…

Note that Jae'Sean Tate's deal is only partially guaranteed. If he is disappointing through early January, the Rockets can waive him & replace him then, all while still ducking the tax.

If Tate sucks replace him by Cameron Matthews 👌

Brandon Miller gets $1M more than Amen Thompson did in his extension. The goal for Miller was to land the biggest non-Wemby extension for his draft class, and he held out until he got it. Pressure is now on Miller to stay healthy and prove he's Charlotte's franchise guy.

The Phoenix Suns plan to waive two-way guard Koby Brea, league sources told @hoopshype. Brea shot 43.3% from 3-point range in 12 games with the Suns last season. With center Mark Williams injured to start the season, Phoenix will look to add frontcourt depth on the two-way market

And yes, OKC is a projected second apron team (right now they are $26M over) and face a tax bill that could exceed $200M. But as the apron rules teach us, the restrictions apply to adding to your roster in free agency and trades, not with retaining your own players.

The Thunder now have 13 out of 14 of their current players under contract for next season. They are also projected to have 3 firsts in next year's draft, including swap rights with the Clippers.

Guessing Phillips got the third two-way spot over Sean Pedulla. Otherwise, Phillips will start counting against the cap/tax on Monday.

If the Rockets are going to waive Julian Phillips, they need to do it today. Otherwise, HOU will incur a small cap hit. Guessing he’s either converted to a two-way or waived today.
