NWS Charleston is deeply saddened by the passing of Jared Smith, founder of @chswx. Jared was a tremendous supporter/partner of the NWS and an important member of the Charleston Tri-County community. We send our deepest condolences to Jared's loyal followers, friends, and family.
Hanging out at the lakeshore in Barker NY and the arc is still hanging out on the horizon at 12:20pm. At right around 43N we should be in for a good show if a substorm pops. Lots of dense energy left.

As of 7:20 PM this evening, the NWS Buffalo has confirmed three tornadoes from Wednesday evening’s severe weather event: 1 in Niagara Co., 1 in Orleans Co., and 1 in Genesee Co.
Estimated wind speeds with the tornadoes were between 105–110 mph. #nywx #Tornado @news4buffalo
