I told my family on Tuesday that on Wednesday, I would either be ordering campaign signs or trusses for my next project. I was at the truss plant early Wednesday morning to place my order.
First, I want to give a big thanks to my family, our amazing volunteers and supporters during our short campaign. And I can’t even begin to express my gratitude and the privilege it has been to be running alongside Randy Hoffbeck. Randy and Cindy Hoffbeck are among Alaska’s finest. I do regret that Alaska will not have the benefit of his expertise to help steer our state out of its financial crisis.
I congratulate those that made it to the final four. While we did not make that cut, we did succeed in getting our message out and in bringing to the forefront the hard issues no one was truly addressing. The need to aggressively address the immediate gas shortage in Southcentral Alaska and the high energy costs all across Alaska is critical. And the urgent need for a sustainable fiscal plan remains.
While these may not be winning issues in politics, they remain critical issues for Alaska’s survival. No surprise to most, I will continue my efforts to assist in bringing Alaska’s gas to Alaskans in any way I can. It’s imperative for Alaska’s energy security.
I urge everyone to get involved. Ask the hard questions, insist on solutions based answers, and support the candidates who can work across party lines to get Alaska moving forward again.
Serving as your 11th governor was the greatest privilege and honor. I extend my best wishes to the next person Alaskans choose to lead us through the challenges and opportunities ahead.
With deep gratitude,
Bill
Whatever the outcome today, I am a lucky man. Receiving these messages this morning from our daughters and others from our sons reminds me of all Donna Walker and I hold dear.
Randy Hoffbeck and I said from the start that we are running to address the hard questions no one else is taking about. We believe we have solutions for the hard issues. Those solutions will secure a stronger future for our families and yours. We’d be honored to have your vote today.

From Tessa Walker:
My sister always says it best.
For Alaskans at the polls today, consider voting for my dad, Bill Walker, the hardest working and most passionate Alaskan you’ll ever meet.
Lindsay captures so beautifully what makes me so proud of my parents, and why my dad couldn’t sit on the sidelines when Alaska’s future is at stake. He’s never been afraid of the hard work, the hard questions, or the hard choices.
My dad shows us every day that Alaska is always worth fighting for. 💛💙

From Lindsay Walker Hobson
On the eve of election night, I just want to say how proud I am of my parents. I am so lucky to have been raised by a woman as incredibly smart, insightful, and hardworking as my mom. She is an absolute force. Very few candidates have a support system like my dad has with my mom, Donna Walker.
I'm also the daughter of the most purpose-driven person I have ever known. My dad's passion for this state knows no bounds. And when I think about each chapter of my dad's life (Statehood, 1964 Earthquake, TAPS construction/operation, AK LNG advocacy), his legacy is uniquely intertwined with the history of our state. It's no wonder my dad couldn't sit on the sidelines with a high stakes energy situation at our doorstep. Bill Walker is a man of action.
I listened to my dad's interview with KRBD FM Rainbird Community Radio FM this evening and was struck by a question about why he got into the race. His answer: "Because no one was talking about the hard stuff."
My dad has never been one for light duty - and he knows we simply do not have the luxury of time to tiptoe along the edge of disaster to earn political favor.
Alaska needed real talk. My dad, along with his running mate, Randy Hoffbeck, were ready to walk into the fire and take the hard issues head-on. Together, they've dared to jump each third rail standing in Alaska's path to future growth and prosperity.
As a result, I have watched my dad be true to himself every single day of this campaign. He has been authentic, direct, and absolutely focused on the positions and issues that need immediate attention. As a result, he is the most relaxed I've ever seen him at this stage of a campaign. Of course, he's working the same impossibly long hours as always, but his head and heart are aligned and his attention is steady on Alaska's next chapter.
My parents set a high bar but the work is always worth the effort when this state they love so dearly is on the line. I will be forever proud to be known as their daughter.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for all you do. Alaska, always 💛💙
WARNING: Fun video below😊
(2)Two years. (60)Sixty legislators. (1)One narrow window to move Alaska’s gasline forward.
(2) more years of the Trump administration’s support and engagement
(60) legislators control big gasline decisions. A consensus building governor is required
(1) gasline team is on the ballot. Bill Walker has a proven record of working with the Trump administration on Alaska’s gasline and of working cooperatively with the legislature. Randy Hoffbeck has a proven record of twice negotiating the very tax terms holding up gasline progress.
A winning combination ✅Walker Hoffbeck✅
Remember, in the primary you can only vote for one team. We can’t advance without your vote. On or before TUESDAY 8/18, we’d be honored to have your vote. ✅Walker Hoffbeck✅
Congratulations to Kodiak, the new home port for two icebreakers and two offshore patrol cutters. I attended the community meeting to learn more, visited with old friends, interviewed with the media and had a great time with the best tour guide, Nick Szabo. And the highlight may have been breaking for homemade rhubarb crisp at the invitation of Lenae Arndt and Jerry Markham! dhs.gov/news/2026/08/12/secr…
A perfect weekend and a perfect photo to remind us of the greatness of Alaska and our vision for all she can be.
