In June the DOJ subpoenaed major banks over debanking. In August, regulators finalized rules against "reputation risk" account closures. Bitcoin has never debanked anyone. Not once, not anywhere.

This is still one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on the internet.
In 2006, tech journalist Guy Kewney went to the BBC for a live interview about an Apple court case.
At the same time, Guy Goma was there for a job interview.
A producer went to reception to collect Guy and they literally got the wrong Guy.
Goma was taken to make-up, miked up and put live on air. He went along with it because, as far as he knew, he was there for an interview.
Then came the question about the court ruling.
You can see the exact moment he realises something has gone very wrong.
“I’m very surprised… because I was not expecting that.”
He then just starts answering the questions and the point he made was that people would increasingly use the internet because it made getting what they wanted easier and faster.
Twenty years later, he has been proven absolutely right!!
Twenty years later this still makes me cry with laughter!!
Those startups always saying tokenomics is always the hard part…
Build on Bitcoin and leave it at the door! 🙃
Built in Web3? Good. You already know how to ship.
Bring the skills. Leave the tokenomics.
The Bitfest Hackathon is open-format: build something that meaningfully uses Bitcoin and/or Nostr.

Governments work for the people, not the other way around. (Bankers got MPs forgetting who their employers are.)
It’s time the people ensure they recognise this, because this is the clown world those idiots, that they keep voting for on rotation, want them to live in. 🤡🗺️
Remind us again, @UKLabour , why exactly digital ID was such a wonderful idea?
👀👀
@arcbtc just keeps shipping! 🔥
Man, Anagram is such a pleasure to use, even light-mode is tolerable. "a nostr messaging app that actually works" (as someone said earlier today on Anagram).
Its easy to test, just go to anagram.chat

Omandroid has a new name: Omarchy Mobile 📱
It was never Android. It's native Omarchy (Arch Linux ARM, Hyprland, Omarchy's own packages) on a mainline Linux kernel, right on a Pixel 7 Pro. No Android underneath.
New repos (old links redirect):
github.com/derekross/omarchy…
github.com/derekross/linux-o…
Hardware: display at 120 Hz, GPU, touch, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth audio, battery, haptics, torch, sensors and auto-rotate, GPS, NFC (read/write tags) and fingerprint unlock (opt-in) all work. Speakers work but are still quiet. Ultrawide camera works; main and front are in progress. The modem now boots and talks to the phone; calls, SMS and data need a SIM, that's next. Sleep is in progress.
The last two days in software:
• swipeable home screens with ~50 built-in widgets, from @simonschubert's Omalauncher
• "Create with AI": describe a widget, Omarchy's default agent builds it
• editable quick settings
• one app per screen
• mirror the phone's screen to your laptop over USB
And an installer! I'm super happy to annonce this. It can all be done with a few commands. GUI/website later. Build the root image on your laptop, then tools/install-phone asks for your user name, password and Wi-Fi, checks the phone, and writes only slot B and userdata. Stock Android stays on slot A as your way back. First boot sets everything up, and tools/phone-provision pulls the phone-specific firmware from your own Pixel factory image (no Google files redistributed). The first clean install with it is happening on my phone as I write this. Steps are in the README.
Fair warning: this is EXPERIMENTAL! Unlocking the bootloader wipes the phone, expect rough edges, Pixel 7 Pro only for now. Pixel 6 and 8a ports are starting via contributors. Addtional contributors welcome 🤙

The Bank of England’s messaging on the digital pound has shifted quite a bit.
Feb 2023 - Jon Cunliffe: a retail CBDC was “likely to be needed” by the end of the decade.
Jan 2024 - Bank of England & HM Treasury: no final decision, but the design phase continues.
Mar 2026 - Bank of England: the design work will inform whether to proceed with a digital pound or put more emphasis on other payment reforms.
Oct 2026 - Sarah Breeden: “we may not need a digital pound quite so quickly.” Stablecoins and tokenised deposits could deliver similar benefits.
That is some journey from “likely to be needed” to questioning whether central bank money has to lead the way at all.
At some point the Bank needs to explain whether the plan has changed, or just the route.
“Britcoin” always seemed like another attempt to muddy the waters between a decentralised currency and a state issued one.
The names blur together, the policy keeps moving and the infrastructure keeps getting built.
It feels much like their approach to Digital ID. Is this disorganisation? Or is this deliberate ambiguity while the plumbing goes in?

NEW: Bank of England Deputy Governor Sarah Breeden says there's no rush to launch "Britcoin," the UK's proposed digital pound, suggesting stablecoins and tokenized bank deposits could deliver similar benefits.
The central bank also wants sterling stablecoins to offer an alternative to dollar-denominated tokens, Bloomberg reported.

Bitcoin isn’t only happening online.
Across the UK, people are already meeting in pubs, cafés and local venues to learn, build, ask questions and find each other.
Who’s doing Bitcoin IRL near you?

Freedom Question #003
If a service is essential to modern life, how much surveillance should you have to accept in order to use it?
Where should the line be?
Interested in the reasoning. 👇
