🚨Ethan Ampadu reveals what he told Bruno Fernandes during Leeds vs Manchester United: 🎙️REPORTER: Ethan, you exchange words with Bruno Fernandes during the game. What exactly did you tell him? 🗣️AMPADU: I told him to his face that he is one of the biggest problems at Manchester United. Honestly, you are so shit, yet you walk around the pitch like you own the entire Premier League. 🎙️REPORTER: That’s a strong statement. Why would you say that to Bruno? 🗣️AMPADU: Because we were outplaying his team, and he was nowhere to be found. Every time things go wrong, he starts complaining to the referee instead of taking responsibility. Is that what a captain is supposed to do? 🎙️REPORTER: Do you think Bruno Fernandes is overrated? 🗣️AMPADU: Absolutely. Manchester United fans talk about him like he’s one of the best midfielders in the world, but what exactly has he done to deserve all that praise? He shouts at his teammates, complains about everything, and then acts like he’s the victim. 🎙️REPORTER: So you believe he’s part of Manchester United’s problem? 🗣️AMPADU: He’s a BIG part of it. If you’re the captain of Manchester United, you should be leading by example, not crying every five minutes. They need players who can control games, not someone who spends more time arguing than playing football. 🎙️REPORTER: Do you have any final words for Bruno? 🗣️AMPADU: Yes. Stop behaving like you’re a world-class player and start proving it on the pitch. Because today, we showed you the difference between talking and actually playing football.

🚨 Roy Keane doesn’t hold back: “I listened to Carrick after the match. Fresh start. Purpose. Good run coming. Brilliant. What about bloody winning a football match? Seven games, one win. That’s Manchester United we’re talking about. And we’re supposed to sit there and be encouraged because the manager thinks he saw some positives? I must have watched a different game. People will say I’m being harsh on Michael. I said it when they gave him the job: I didn’t think he was the right man. I said it when he was winning games, so I’m certainly not changing my mind now because he’s drawn with Leeds. Being a decent fella and having played for the club doesn’t qualify you to manage Manchester United. That’s not how it works. You look at the team. Bruno’s here, Cunha’s there, Mbeumo’s up front. Players being shifted about, and for what? What’s the idea? I don’t mind a manager trying something, but when it’s clearly not working, do your job. Change it. You can’t stand there for 75 minutes watching the same rubbish and then come out talking about a fresh start. And don’t get me started on the players. They’ll be disappointed, apparently. They’ll be hurting. Good. They should be. You’d swear running back, winning tackles and making a simple pass were special achievements now. They’re the basics. You’re being paid to do them. Someone said to me, ‘At least United didn’t lose.’ Jesus Christ. Is that what the club has become? Do United get a point for turning up as well? Leeds get a draw against Manchester United and we’re talking as if United survived some great European side. Then you look across Manchester. City have won seven out of seven. Arsenal are competing. Brighton are selling their best players every summer and still playing better football than United. Brighton! And fair play to them, they’ve got people who know what they’re doing. That’s the embarrassing part. It isn’t luck. They’ve got a plan. At United, every six months it’s a new manager, a new system, a new explanation. The same people upstairs tell you they’ve learned lessons, and six months later we’re having the same bloody conversation. Who’s holding them accountable? They appointed Carrick. They built this squad. They can’t keep hiding behind whoever’s sitting in the dugout. And I know what people will say. ‘Roy, you’re always negative.’ Negative? One win in seven! What would you like me to do, congratulate them? The supporters are spending their money, travelling around the country, watching their rivals fight for titles, and they’re being asked to applaud a draw at Leeds because the manager saw a bit of spirit. I want United to win. I want Carrick to prove me wrong. But he has to earn that. I won’t sit here and lower the standards just because I played with him. If you’re not good enough, you’re not good enough. And if the people running Manchester United think this is acceptable, then they’re an even bigger problem than the manager.”

Gary Neville described Manchester United as a graveyard for players, and it is hard to disagree. We are not playing three at the back now, are we? The next six fixtures will either make or break Carrick.
Manchester United in the PL this season: ▪️7 games ▪️7 points ▪️10 goals scored ▪️10 goals conceded 😮‍💨⚖️

I was not a fan of his appointment, but now that he is here, he must be given the same time they gave Amorim, even if that means we get relegated. LOL!

Manchester United’s out of possession stats in the Premier League this season. They rank bottom for sprints, and time and distance at high intensity out of possession.  [sky] #MUFC

Didn't come close to Brentford away, Grimsby away, Palace away, Olympiakos away, Midtjylland away, Everton away 2019, Watford away 2021, February 2008 derby, Brighton midweek etc. etc. xitter.cf/SkySportsPL/status/210…

Gary Neville: “Very rarely do I say a team doesn't work hard or is lacking in effort. That's the ultimate criticism you can give a group of players. I'm always very careful to say that, but in those first 15 minutes of that second half, Man Utd and generally for the first 60 minutes, were a genuine disgrace. Nowhere near good enough without the ball.” [sky] #MUFC

This is a problem.
Michael Carrick: “I didn't think we did [look passive]. Did you think we were passive? Football is a difficult game.  We controlled a lot of the first half and we played a lot of good football today. There is going to be spells when you don't have it go your own way. The goal they scored, and arguably there is a foul at one point on Matheus [Cunha], and it is two deflections. It goes their way. To expect total dominance for the whole game, I don't think anyone gets that in this league.” #MUFC

Gary Neville: “I've watched Manchester United since the age of five, and it's the worst 15 minutes I've ever seen them play. Absolutely pathetic. They've walked for 15 minutes, and you get what you deserve in a football match.” #MUFC

Having Joshua Zirkzee as your first sub - who has wanted to leave for a long time & Manchester United has wanted to sell for more than 12 months - is an indictment of the state of the options given to Michael Carrick after this summer. Set up for failure & now failing. Shocker.

Amorim’s three at the back was called rigid. Yet Carrick’s team looks so focused on staying calm and holding position that urgency disappears. To me, that is tactical naivety. Change the formation all you like, but standards look lower.

There is a difference between composure and being passive. Carrick’s team seems to confuse the two. Hold your position, stay calm, but who takes responsibility? For all the criticism of Amorim’s back three, I would argue standards have dropped.

Genuinely a horrific watch. Club should be ashamed.

An own goal sums up Manchester United - from the board’s failure to spend and strengthen the defence to the goal itself. Anaemic, starting with poor passing out from the back, then Cunha weak, Lammens and Martinez, too. No concentration or determination. Half-hearted, half-asleep.

“Anything” will be better at this rate.
Why not switch up the United attack, swap Cunha and Rashford. Give Rashford a run through the middle, Cunha cutting in from the left, set Fulham a different test. Just a thought with no Sesko option.
