Entirely true, the generation coming out of this are going to be tough and emotionally hardened enough to possess only a cursory resemblance to what would previously have constituted “young people”, and you’re going to complain about them going no contact, like you did no wrong
Yeah man drinking out of the garden hose is going to sound real hardcore to kids who started to learn how to fend off shooters and barricade doors in kindergarten.

We managed to kill childhood en masse, which is a pretty huge achievement for only about 40 years of trying, but we did it. The strength of character it must take for young people to find something to look forward to blows my mind

Goodnight from Adam Stanton, sitting close to a brazier filled with orange boxes, waiting for the flames to die so he can riddle the ashes from across the waves. Goodnight from Liz Page, applying Faery eye shadow, fully aware of the cost of its glamours. Goodnight from Hookland.

RIP Caleb Carr (1955-2024) If you worked in bookstores in the mid ’90s you sold countless copies of this

“He’s gone where? Oh my god, to Morrisons! To do a f*cking photoshoot sniffing a loaf of f*cking bread! You know they’ll keep moving him until they get a photo of the twat in front of a sign reading ‘moron’?

The men on the right look like you shouldn’t trust them alone in a room with a tethered goat
I have no opinion of what women like, but I would be curious to hear from women who are attracted to men. Tate is 37 in this photo; Gandolfini is ~41. Assuming you are attracted to men in this age group, who do you find more attractive? I will post my hunch later.

Teenagers have started calling AI art “boomer art” and consider it cringe. I honestly couldn’t be happier.

See here's the thing, an academic I know wrote a book chapter on Tacitus and the Fire of Rome titled "Burn baby burn (disco in Furneaux)" and I think about this title at least once per week.

Every so often I think about the fact that Gomez is so deeply in love with Morticia because the Addams were supposed to be the opposite of the average American family

It's almost Towel Day! In 2001 author Douglas Adams suffered a spontaneous existence failure. Since then, every 25 May, fans all over the world pay tribute to him by carrying a towel. And if you want you can join one of the celebrations. towerlday.org
