A huge thank you to my supervisors Don Driscoll, @dv_conservinit and @varunrgoswami for guiding me through this journey!
Also, huge thanks to my amazing field team Ban, Wallam and San for their dedication!
We are extremely proud that our scientist, @BiangSyiem has completed his PhD from @Deakin, in partnership with Conservation Initiatives!
Biang was advised by Dr. Don Driscoll, @dv_conservinit and @varunrgoswami
Many congratulations, Dr. Biang La Nam Syiem!

Congratulations! Glad we (@dv_conservinit and team) were able to contribute initial location and design insights, in consultation with @DfoJorhat. The canopy bridges are essential as things stand, but rerouting the rail line is indeed the ultimate solution.

Elephants respond fine-scale to human numbers and activity, says @ParvathiKPrasad at #ICCB2023
Human behaviour towards elephants can shape landscape connectivity, and can move us towards conflict or towards coexistence.

We highlight the importance of wooded land uses in agricultural landscapes for forest bird conservation. However, forest cover decline in the region will need to be monitored as it can impact the conservation effectiveness of wooded land uses.
This is my first PhD publication and many thanks to @DonADriscoll @dv_conservinit and @varunrgoswami for their guidance!
