As the monsoon retreats and the migration season starts, Delhi-NCR sees some uncommon birds some of which are passage migrants that spend only a couple days here. This is a compilation thread of this year's specials entries. Pic credit mentioned. #IndiAves #birdwatching #NCRBirds
Amidst all the mostly brown birds, this little barbet always brings a smile with its bright colours, fidgety behaviour, and, most importantly, its patience in giving me enough time to click. A tiny, happy bomb of colours and energy!

The Shikra & Jacobin Cuckoo found this beautiful perch to dry their feathers. The morning sun shining brightly on the babool tree, the fragrance of its flowers, a lake in the background filled with waders. For a moment, it felt like time had stopped for me.

This is a Red-tailed Shrike, an uncommon visitor to Delhi’s outskirts. A keen birder wld quickly spot the difference betwn this nd the Isabelline, a regular visitor here. I cld easily hv mistaken it for an Isabelline and walked away, missing out on a lifer!
