A real terms paycut doesn't show a workforce you value them, it will do nothing to keep doctors in the country and will not help improve experience of patients in the NHS.

@Jeremy_Hunt is right - the family doctor should be the front door of the NHS.
@YvetteCooperMP, will you ensure that the family doctor model is brought back to improve continuity of care?

Cutting doctors’ pay won’t keep them in the NHS.
The DDRB must show its independence and recommend what patients and the NHS need, not what the Government is prepared to pay.

Patient demand continues to grow faster than the GP workforce, putting greater pressure on GPs.
Unsustainable numbers like this put delivering timely, high-quality care at risk.

Following written confirmation from Government, we’re entering formal talks and temporarily pausing further escalation of collective action. Our focus remains a better contract, increased core funding, and tackling unsafe workload pressures in GP.

This is the Government's opportunity to reset relations with GPs. We need a confirmed roadmap for:
> £50 per patient increase in core practice funding
> Clarity on turning unsafe demand into manageable care for our patients.

Expensive exam fees have always been an unfair financial burden for resident doctors trying to progress in their careers. But this is set to change. As agreed in the deal made with the government earlier this year, resident doctors will soon be able to apply to have Medical Royal College and Faculty exams reimbursed.
A complete list of Medical Royal College and Faculty exams that will be covered is now available on our website and the Academy's website. bma.org.uk/our-campaigns/res…
The system is expected to go live in the next few weeks, along with guidance on how to claim. Stay tuned for further updates 👀

Patients are being contacted by the NHS to check their address.
If the patient doesn't respond within 30 days the GP practice then has 3 months to respond or else the patient will be de-registered with the practice (aged 18+).
This could delay care and treatment for patients.
