I have a more extreme view than you. I think an acceleration in OpenAI and Anthropic, if it came even partially from share gains, would be net negative for AI infra demand. Fragmentation and competition at the model layer is best for AI infra. And for apps!

Harness becoming more valuable as models are getting commoditized
Important note regarding Grok @Bot: Going forward, @SpaceX will use the best back end model for any given task, including Claude Opus 5.5, MidJourney, Suno and other leading APIs. Whatever is most likely to give you the best outcome.

Schneider's biggest deal ever just got announced. It's $23.7B for the moment a product gets designed. Quickly unpacking PTC: 7 takeaways on why the just AI-boom read misses it, what the 42% premium hides, and the one number I'd grade it on. 🧵

I’ve had the privilege of serving on the same board as @schreier and learning from him along the way. He is that rare investor who makes everyone around him better — patient, principled, and generous with what he knows. Any entrepreneur who has Bryan on their side is truly lucky! Also LOVE Ballast's mission, such a fresh perspective!
Starting Monday, I'll be full-time on Ballast.Org, a new company grounded in a simple idea: economic value creation and humanitarian impact can compound together. Ballast is a for-profit engine built to grow capital and fund nonprofits in perpetuity. We will build in the world beyond core tech, with an initial portfolio of businesses ranging from real estate to hospitality to industrials.

Impressive gravimetric density numbers from @estesenergy 🔋

@estesenergy engineering keeps knocking down milestones for our customers. Magnus weighed in at 307.07 kg and discharged 69,111 Wh of energy (C/5 discharge at room temperature, 4.19v down to 2.50v). 225.06 Wh/kg from a liquid cooled, ruggedized, 3000 cycle capable, PPR, ASIL-D rated pack that is under certification to endure rail, marine, and automotive environments. Crush-able. Crash-able. Drop-able. This is our floor for energy density with an automotive grade NCM cell. Class 8 truck cell raises the bar further. Data below is publicly sourced, comment/DM if you have other useful datapoints applicable to this class of energy systems.

The tremendous success of @ridezum is thanks to the authentic passion of an outstanding team led by @ritun, whom I'm thrilled to see recognized for all she's achieved.
Zum is proud to celebrate Founder & CEO @ritun, the #1 honoree in Innovation on Forbes’ 2026 50 Over 50 list and featured on the Innovation cover. Congratulations to all of this year’s remarkable honorees who are challenging conventions, solving important problems and driving meaningful change. Thank you to Forbes and Maggie McGrath for celebrating the women redefining what’s possible.

"Whether or not the revenues ever arrive, purchase commitments and signed leases can’t be canceled, for the most part. If things go wrong, tech companies will be paying an expensive tab for infrastructure that they can’t profitably use. These obligations could also lead increasingly indebted companies to have to borrow even more."@pswsj @rudegeair @WSJ wsj.com/tech/ai/why-big-tech…

9/ The $80B is not the story. What it tells you is. In a year: debt quadrupled, a 100-year bond, then $80B equity, with $866M paid to close it. And a wave of mega-raises lining up behind it that each top a full year of the IPO market. Full breakdown 👇 xitter.cf/Bguzel/status/20621625…

“That’s why I started with 1870 and Cooke’s ill-fated agreement with Northern Pacific. Yes, the upside the deal afforded Cooke was incredible, but it was incredible for a reason: it was very risky, and pioneering new funding mechanisms only served to spread the pain when it all blew up. It’s one thing to spend all of your free cash flow; it’s another thing to tap the debt markets. And, beyond that, it’s a completely new nerve-racking thing to bring safety-seeking assets to bear. AI better deliver before it’s too late.” @benthompson

We are announcing Levius™, our full-stack magnesium processing platform, as well as the first commercial delivery of Magnus™, our flagship battery platform, now in customer hands. The Levius™ magnesium processing platform integrates our proprietary flame-retardant magnesium alloys, large-format semi-solid casting, and an ultra-energy-efficient, low-cost coating process into a single end-to-end manufacturing system. We believe magnesium will be foundational to the next generation of electrified systems in the air, on land, and at sea, and the Levius™ process will power the way. Contracts are signed.  Shipments have begun.  Later this year, we're delivering systems to rail, marine, and on-highway customers.  Magnus™ is ready to usher in a new era of Class 8 electrification: 1000V systems at mass parity with their diesel-powered counterparts. Our focus now shifts to commercialization. finance.yahoo.com/energy/art…

At Estes, we are a team of builders obsessed with the challenge of battery optimization. The battery system is no longer simply an energy store. It is the central architectural and financial element of the electrified machine. Today, we're publishing Estes' thesis on how our novel magnesium alloys and manufacturing processes will alter the landscape of battery performance and cost. And we are announcing Levius™, our end-to-end alloying, forming, and coating platform, which transforms magnesium from ingot to finished thermo-structural, high-voltage battery system with over 80% gravimetric conversion efficiency. Estes' first product born of this manufacturing platform is Magnus™. 30% smaller and lighter than cell-equivalent battery systems. 75% fewer unique components. These benefits don’t come from some new exotic cell breakthroughs. They come from innovative materials, processes and architectures focused on everything around the cell, achieving new levels of energy density, manufacturability, safety, and cost that will unleash the age of mass electrification. Contracts are signed. Shipments have begun. Later this year, we're delivering systems to rail, marine, and on-highway customers. Magnus™ is ready to usher in a new era of Class 8 electrification: 1000V systems at mass parity with their diesel-powered counterparts. Proud doesn't begin to describe how I feel about the team that tackles challenges large and small every day. And grateful doesn't do justice to how I feel about our investors and global partners who have empowered us to focus on solutions. The future of electrification isn't going to look like the past, and as builders, we are only looking forward. @estesenergy #electrification #magnesium #DeepTech #Manufacturing #Lightweighting finance.yahoo.com/energy/art…

“Over the last three years, LLMs went from answering basic queries, to reasoning through complex problems, to becoming agents that can complete real-world work over longer and longer time horizons. Early on in this journey, model improvements were made through training models on the internet’s available data with increasing amounts of compute. As we’ve 1) ran out of further data on the internet to train on and 2) saturated more and more simple/general capabilities, a clear bottleneck to further model improvements has emerged: incremental high quality data. This data will be generated and served by the Task Economy… Let’s take the legal industry as quick real example. AI models trained on the open internet can garner a high-level understanding of law, know publicly available case law precedents, etc. But producing the real world work of a talented lawyer requires data not available on the internet. In order for a model to replicate high quality legal workflows, we must give the model prompts (review a contract, draft an argument), place the model in relevant environments (a legal data room), and then grade/verify the quality of the work (via a rubric, an example of which you can see here). These tasks teach the model not only what to do, but how to do it. And the more high quality tasks you expose the model to, the better the model gets. In this way, what tokens are to inference/model usage, tasks are to model improvement efforts.” xitter.cf/everettrandle/status/2…
