David Andrew Key died October 14, 2026, at age 43 from metastatic prostate cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. His brother Brian Scott Key died March 16, 2020, at age 36 in Colorado Springs. Exact cause unknown; no autopsy or funeral then due to COVID rules, and he was alone.
Cancer took both my sons. David (prostate cancer) 10/14/26 age 43. Brian 3/16/20 she 36 (Hodgkin's lymphoma, AML) Tried to take me. October 12th was my 4th year in remission from Stage 3 Ovarian Cancer. 🙏🏻 for no more cancer in my life

David Andrew Key, My oldest and first son was born October 26,1982 at 6:18 pm in Jacksonville, North Carolina just outside Camp LeJeune Marine Corps base. And today he passed at 6:18 pm on October 14, 2026, while at MD Anderson Cancer Center in our hometown of Houston,Texas.
He was 43 years of age just shy of 44 years by 12 days. It was one day before his late paternal grandmother Julie Carroll Key Harding's birthday and two days before Velma Smith Key Stone, his late paternal great grandmother's.
I held his hands, wiped his tears and tried hard to ease his fears, whispered over and over I love you so and prayed to Jesus my son could find peace and his only sibling and younger brother, Brian, in Heaven. My heart is once again shattered losing my amazing son David who is now my second son to lose and my last child.
I need to say thank you to every one of David's friends who came to see him these last several months and laughed, reminisced and visited with him like old times. Each of your presence in his life meant the world to him so therefore to me, too. I'm eternally grateful. And to those who couldn't make it but kept in touch with him and offered him love, friendship and support, I thank y'all so much as well. David's friends in this life were very important to him always.
Please remember to pray for his wife Leeha and David's father Kevin and step mom Amy, too, who also loved him dearly and were so frequently by his side.
Most importantly, please, please pray for My David to find the peace and tranquility he so yearned to. No one deserves it more than him.
I'll love you for always, David Key as I've told you one trillion times. I'm so proud of you and in this life and any other it's been a privilege and an honor to be your mother and I will carry you in my heart all the days of my life that's left on earth and Heaven. I can hardly wait to see you and Brian again! Wait for me there I'll be there too some day with you both again ♥️♥️♥️
