Wonderful effort from my friends at Lord’s Taverners/ Final Word podcast crew at Edinburgh.
Not least the incredible Haylee Fuller, taking on the Haggis Challenge (5k AND 10k Saturday, THEN half marathon AND marathon Sunday).
Mindblowing stuff…

THAT is the strength of English football. A team that wins nothing for 70 years, still supported by massive hordes. Trophies matter, course they do, but, at every level, it's people (their devotion, energy, endurance, memories) that make football clubs great. ✊️✊️ Toon fans.

Apparently you now have to pay for an ad-free version of the National Rail app or you get full screen, unavoidable-to-click bullshit.
Getting tougher and tougher to believe myself when I tell people I’m not sympathetic to communism.
What a treat to see Saturday Night at #lff tonight. A terrific film, so thrilling and a real love letter to the show (I know, vomit, but it’s true).
No doubt 99% of what happens is absolute spice, but with SNL the mythology is sort of the point isn’t it…
They’ll be slightly confused, but largely unaffected. Completely pointless.

Kris Kristofferson has died, aged 88. In 1987, he appeared on Wogan alongside Johnny Cash and covered everything from being a Rhodes scholar to landing a helicopter on Cash's lawn, while also treating us to a few bars of one of his biggest hits.
Kris Kristofferson (Wogan, 1987)
Clip taken from Wogan, originally broadcast on BBC One, Monday 24 August, 1987.
Farewell, then, Kris Kristofferson.
Unfortunately, my main cultural reference for you is being a compelling presence in bad films, like the one where time travellers save people from a plane crash.
Pleased to say I’ve learned a lot more about Kris Kristofferson in the last 24 hours and it certainly sounds like he was an absolute hero.
I am so sorry to learn of Kris’s death. He was a brilliant talent & human.
I documented his stunning recovery from chronic Lyme-induced Alzheimer’s in HuffPo in this in-depth interview.
His story opened the eyes of many MDs & researchers who reached out after this was published. His contribution to the world of chronic illness can’t be overstated.
RIP, Kris, & thanks for everything 🙏
There was a woman in the seat behind me in the cinema who wouldn’t (or maybe couldn’t) stop talking.
For a while, it reminded me why I stopped going to the cinema, but then Megalopolis kept happening and it ended up feeling like part of the show.
