It's so difficult to understand why people vote for this man.
“Donald Trump is now a felon. His campaign chairman was a felon. So is his deputy campaign manager, his personal lawyer, his chief strategist, his National Security Adviser, his Trade Advisor, his Foreign Policy Adviser, his campaign fixer, and his company CFO. They’re all felons. Judged by the company you keep. It’s a cabal of convicts.” —Quoted by @HC_Richardson

WOW!!!
I am not preaching on Easter Sunday, but if I were, these are some thoughts I might share. There is a magic moment in time when only one person in the whole world, one person walking planet Earth, knew the good news of “He’s alive,” the ultimate “breaking news” that would forever change the course of humanity. For that brief, sacred instant, this one person was the whole Church. The whole Jesus story hinged on what that one person would do with the truth. Would she cherish it and keep it to herself? Or would she share it with others and become, as the Roman Catholic church even titles this person, “the apostle to the apostles?” Of course, this one person who was trusted with the whole story was Mary Magdala, or Mary “Strong Tower” (the meaning of Magdala in Aramaic). She was there when all the other disciples fled. She stood firm in her faith when all others doubted. She saw angels when Peter and John only saw stacks of dirty laundry. All four gospels are unanimous that Mary of Magdala was the premier witness to the Crucifixion, burial and resurrection of Jesus. She stays and suffers when all others run and waver. . . . And all this at a time when the testimony of any woman was unvalued and, more than that, not to be trusted. The whole story hangs on one single, fragile thread . . Each one of us, no matter how seemingly insignificant or marginalized, is a single, fragile thread that has been entrusted with a truth that can change lives and shape destinies. Like Mary, we may find ourselves standing alone in the face of doubt, fear, and opposition. We may feel like a lone string wondering if our voice will be heard or if our faith will make a difference. But Mary teaches us that when we hold fast to our faith, when we bear witness to the truth, and when we step out in faith to share the Good News with others, we become part of a tapestry woven by God - a beautiful, unbreakable fabric that tells the story of redemption and hope. Your faith, your testimony, and your willingness to share the truth all matter. You may feel like a solitary voice in a world ricocheting with racket and dissonance, but your words have the power to ignite change, to bring comfort, and to lead others to the feet of the risen and rising Savior. God wants to use your single, precious, fragile thread to create something beautiful and eternal, a tapestry of truth that carries the greatest news the world has ever known. Just say 'Yes." #eastersunday2024

BREAKING: Donald Trump attempts a desperate Hail Mary pass to save himself from financial ruin and begs Judge Arthur Engoran to delay the enforcement of his $355 million fine for one month. In a pathetic letter to the judge, Trump accused Attorney General Letitia James of an “unseemly rush” to enforce the historic judgement because she submitted a proposal to judge for signature just days after the ruling. Of course, there is nothing actually “unseemly” about wanting to enforce a ruling. Letitits James is just doing her job. As it stands, Trump has only 30 days from when a judgement is entered to post bond and then appeal. The simple fact of the matter is that Trump can’t afford to pay such a massive fine while keeping his presidential campaign alive — and he knows it. Trump’s shady attorney said that if the judge enters the attorney general’s judgment they “request the Court stay enforcement of that Judgment for thirty (30) days. Given that the court-appointed monitor continues to be in place, there is no prejudice to the Attorney General in briefly staying enforcement to allow for an orderly post-Judgment process, particularly given the magnitude of Judgment.” Unsurprisingly, Letitia James’ office opposed Trump’s request in a formal filing, saying that there is “no room for further debate.” An attorney for the state of New York further added that Trump completely failed to provide any real rationalization for a 30-day extension. Clearly, Trump’s goose is cooked. Please retweet and ❤️ to urge the judge to reject the extension — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a new pro-democracy social network that is exploding in popularity because Twitter and Facebook are trying to stop its growth — which is only making Tribel grow even faster. BREAKING: Indicted 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is hit with devastating news as the biggest and most influential newspaper in the entire state of Texas endorses President Biden and tears Donald Trump to pieces. But it gets even WORSE for Donald Trump… The editorial board of The Houston Chronicle not only ripped into the MAGA cult leader, they laid out in plain black and white exactly why every American should vote for Joe Biden. They write that Biden will "make life better" for the American people, has made our economy "healthier," and will crucially prevent the "chaos, corruption and danger to the nation" that would so clearly come from Trump getting a second term in the White House. They state that the Biden administration has "performed remarkably well, despite the rancor and divisiveness that have afflicted this nation for nearly a decade." The board concedes that Biden "has his shortcomings" like every other president, but says that he has a historic number of achievements that serve as a "potent reminder to his fellow Democrats, to independents and to those Republicans who have somehow resisted Trump's cultish appeal that the nation has a viable alternative." In addition to his massive economic victories, they praise Biden's effort to curtail gun violence, his introduction of a price cap on insulin, and his astonishing success at uniting the world against Putin's "brutish" invasion of Ukraine. When mentioning the situation along the southern border, the board writes that "blame primarily belongs to caviling and cynical MAGA Republicans in the House. "In servility to Trump, they torpedoed a bipartisan border-security plan painstakingly crafted in the Senate. Biden can't solve the crisis by executive order; he needs Congress to act," the board writes. At another point in the piece, the board easily dispatches the bad faith attacks on Biden's age, saying that he has "forgotten more than his presumed Republican rival will ever know. That's not saying much, and at the same time, it says it all." Predictably, prominent MAGA figures are completely melting down over the editorial — because they know precisely how influential this newspaper is in Texas. Clearly, The Houston Chronicle has struck a nerve. Please retweet and ❤️ if you think that every patriotic American should vote for Biden — and consider joining the growing exodus to Tribel, a new pro-democracy social network that is exploding in popularity because Twitter and Facebook are trying to stop its growth — which is only making Tribel grow even faster. A good chunk of the depression we are feeling comes not just from watching fellow human being massacred with impunity but also the realisation that those who tasked with 'representing' us only represent money & power, that the wishes of millions of us is of no consequence to them

shockingly immature on the part of the CEO of Woolies.
It’s just such a perfect display of the tantrums thrown by people who’ve spent their professional lives being coddled and catered to by fearful employees… some junior assistant is going to get blamed for not getting him a snack before the interview, I just know it.

I’ve known Natalie for many years now and have seen the deepest truths of her story. She has refused victimhood and become a champion for victims of abuse everywhere. An astonishing woman!
Although I have openly shared my story for many years, it has taken the building of a sisterhood amongst the women my ex-husband abused for him to be brought to justice. Today, the Sunday Times have published our story. 💗

I do get tired of people trying to discredit our faith by saying that we are “leftists” or “communists”… not because it hurts my feelings but because it just feels like lazy hubris and sloppy hermeneutic. Many of the things that a lot of Christians support aren’t very Christlike at all… they’re just done for political expediency or in the name of pragmatism, because the idea of loving your enemies or giving everything you have to the poor seem unrealistic and radical even though they are exactly what Jesus taught. Some stuff like calling for a ceasefire in Gaza is not about Left and Right… it’s about right and wrong. No genuine Christian can defend the atrocities being committed by the State of Israel just as no genuine Christian can defend the atrocities carried out by Hamas on October 7. And many issues like welcoming immigrants, caring for widows and orphans, feeding the hungry, protesting militarism and war… these are not Republican things or Democrat things… these are JESUS things. They are at the heart of the Gospel. (And the truth is I think Jesus is even more radical than Karl Marx.)
