A celebrity born in Britain, educated in Britain, given her career by British institutions, now living in America telling her birth country it is uniquely evil. The anti-colonial ideological framework that produces this conclusion — that western civilisation is the singular source of human suffering — is the postmodern successor to the Marxist oppressor and oppressed binary. Different categories. Identical structure. The west is always the villain. History that contradicts that conclusion is simply not permitted to exist.

Mao killed between 45 and 80 million people. A commentator praising Hitler to millions of followers would end their career instantly. Praising Mao gets you a Twitch deal. That asymmetry is not accidental.

The ideology responsible for these numbers is still on university reading lists. Its symbols are still on university campuses. Its intellectual framework is debated seriously in mainstream political discourse in a way that Nazi ideology — with a significantly lower death toll — simply is not. Between Extremes exists to ask why. And to examine what happens when that same ideology mutates into new language and finds new institutions to capture. Episode 1 out now.

Ruffalo worth $35 million. Wealth redistribution for thee not for me. Ruffalo is not a hypocrite. He is the archetype. The revolutionary class has always paid itself first. Soviet elite. Mao's inner circle. NYC council members voting themselves pay rises. Hollywood activists worth tens of millions demanding redistribution of everyone else's wealth. Different century. Same first move. Always.

No far right terror threat existed. The establishment invented one. The same establishment that concealed the Southport killer's Prevent failures for months, that arrested people for Facebook posts while grooming gangs operated for decades, that proposed controlling YouTube's algorithm to boost state broadcasters. The asymmetry is not accidental. Real threats to the public are managed quietly. Fictional threats from the right are amplified loudly. That is not incompetence. That is policy.

Genuinely sad. Because an ideology has convinced a young person that their entire psychological stability depends on strangers using specific words. That is fragility engineered by a belief system that told them their identity was under constant attack. The ideology that promised liberation produced this.

£16.5 billion in foreign aid. Britain cannot fund its NHS. Cannot house its people. Cut pensioners' fuel allowance. Spends more on benefits than it collects in income tax. But 0.7% of GDP to other countries is non negotiable. The political class that calls immigration concerns racist, energy security irresponsible, and welfare reform cruel has decided that £16.5 billion leaving Britain is the priority. The people paying for this did not vote for it.

First day. North Sea oil. Breaking the manifesto. Good. The manifesto was wrong. 200,000 jobs. £25 billion to the economy. Energy security. Lower emissions than imported LNG. A politician prioritising the national interest over ideological purity on day one is not a betrayal. It is exactly what governing looks like. Polanski is furious. That is the clearest possible signal this is the right call.
Replying to @ZackPolanski
Polanski. No new oil and gas. 200,000 jobs gone. Energy imported from Russia, Qatar, and unstable regions instead of produced at home. Higher carbon emissions from imported LNG than domestic production. Energy bills up. Britain dependent on hostile states. This costs British workers their jobs and British families their energy security. For an ideology.

Boyard removes his £50,000 Rolex before denouncing the ultra-rich. The revolutionary class always pays itself first. Soviet elite. Mao's inner circle. NYC council members voting themselves pay rises. French politicians hiding Rolexes. Different countries. Different centuries. Same first move. The ideology was never about equality. It was always about power.
Replying to @ZackPolanski
Deeply irresponsible? 200,000 jobs. £25 billion to the economy. Energy imported from volatile and hostile states replaced by domestic production with lower emissions than imported LNG. Polanski calls Burnham producing it at home deeply irresponsible. The ideology that would rather import than drill at home is not protecting the climate. It is protecting the narrative.
Replying to @SaulStaniforth @ZackPolanski
Hoarding assets. That is what Polanski calls legally acquired wealth. Not earning. Not building. Not saving. Hoarding. The language matters. Once wealth is redefined as hoarding — as theft from the collective — the moral case for taking it becomes straightforward. Marx made the same argument. Every government that followed it discovered there was never enough to take. The wealth always ran out before the ideology did.

£153 million in foreign aid to Pakistan. The same government that cut winter fuel allowance for British pensioners, has NHS waiting lists at record highs, and cannot fund social housing for British families. The question of whether foreign aid to a nuclear armed state with its own space programme is the right priority for a government with no money is not Islamophobia. It is common sense.

The resurgence of political terrorism from the far left is not a surprise to anyone studying the historical pattern. Every revolutionary movement that pursues institutional capture eventually produces a faction that decides the institutions are moving too slowly. The DSA member says take America down from within. The next step has always been the same. Rubio is right to take this seriously. History is unambiguous about where ideological certainty combined with political violence leads.

Human rights law designed to protect the persecuted being used to circumvent immigration policy entirely. The law was not designed for this. It has been stretched by activist legal interpretation until it means something its authors never intended. That is not justice. It is judicial capture. And somebody always pays for it. In this case — British families on social housing waiting lists.

The ideology that redefines woman redefines rape. The ideology that redefines borders redefines citizenship. The ideology that redefines history erases Little Italy from a map. Language is always the first institution captured. Once you control the definitions you control the debate. Once you control the debate you control the policy. Mamdani is not making mistakes. He is executing a strategy. We have seen it before.

The Supreme Court ruled that woman means adult human female. The Cass Review found puberty blockers were prescribed to children without adequate evidence. Detransitioners are living with irreversible consequences. The misfire was not basing women's rights on biology. The misfire was an ideology that captured institutions, silenced clinicians, and told women their concerns were reactionary. JK Rowling was right. The biology held.

Council removes England flags before a World Cup semi final. The same councils that fly the progress flag on public buildings, endorse Pride month officially, and would never touch a Palestinian flag on a balcony. The state's enforcement of what symbols are permitted in public is not neutral. The flags they remove and the flags they fly tell you everything about who they think they represent.
