Bewildered and happy that we have become an @ace_national IPSO, mixed with sadness about the many amazing orgs that weren’t successful. We will cherish this public funding and do our utmost to bring positive impacts to people, projects & policy in the arts and homelessness sector

It is not a surprise that people are surprised that Nazanin Zaghari Radcliffe is not more grateful. She is a woman. She is not white. She is an immigrant. She is expected to be grateful. She is expected to show gratitude for every inch of space she is given. I admire her hugely.

This… but @khalida_popal all year long for me. Afghan national women’s football captain, got young women playing the game out of Afghanistan, some of whom are already playing football elsewhere. Person of the century.

I have never felt so unsafe in this country. Sat out in the countryside last week as night kicking in and got a chill of fear. Had to ask myself what I was afraid of… ghosts aren’t a thing, neither are scary wild animals here… It’s men, I am scared of men.
The epidemic of drinks spiking targeting young women - students and not - in nightclubs has a horrific new variant: injecting women in the back or leg with the same drugs. I asked my daughter - first year at a UK uni - if she had heard of it and she sent me this:
Johnson on #marr stating ‘rape’ and ‘rape convictions’ as the issue people are angry about. Didn’t once say ‘violence against women and girls’ or ‘women’s safety’. This is why we’re not safe, the systemic nature of all violence against us isn’t understood by men creating policy.

Chatting to two friends, one a lawyer, one in the police. Both said they don’t know enough about the law around arrests to feel they could challenge it.
Hey ladies, did you know you have the right *not* to be raped and murdered? Commissioner Philip Allott thinks that if a killer cop uses his authority to arrest and kidnap you, you should simply inform him that a lawyer will send him a strongly worded letter in 3-5 working days.
