WE WON TODAY! CITY COUNCIL IS GOING TO DELAY THE VOTE ON GREEN V. CHICAGO TO SEPTEMBER! #ReleaseTheRecords we got more time make sure the settlement INCLUDES releasing the documents. We're gonna hold them accountable to that in September. Thanks y'all, we did that together.
City Council says that it would cost $8 million to release all records from 1967 to present. That’s less than 2 days the city currently spends on the Chicago Police Department #DefundCPD and pay for transparency. #ReleaseTheRecords

I spent most of today in the ER with a young person who experiences so much mental anguish that she attempted to take her own life.

As usual, I will shamelessly plug @k4kids, where I’ve learned a lot about helping kids to be and feel safe. But if there are others that nearer and dearer to you, they need your support too.
She is safe now, but she is still in pain. All day she suffered through the “hurry up and wait” game that the school system, hospital, and mental health clinics required her to play while trying to get her needs met.
