Is Burhan afraid to confront his master al-Sisi? You can't be a leader if you take the knee. At least 72 miners were killed near the Egyptian border, according to Sudan’s Emergency Lawyers group, which blamed Egyptian aircraft. Egypt confirmed an anti-illegal-mining campaign in its Eastern Desert, and that is the same as acknowledgement and taking responsibility for the deadly strike. Burhan ordered an investigation. His government stopped short of blaming Cairo. An inquiry must deliver answers: Where did the strike happen? Who ordered it? Will the findings be published? Sudanese families deserve evidence, justice, and a leader willing to demand accountability—even from his master. If Burhan puts his relationship with al-Sisi above those demands, whose interests is he protecting?

Sudan’s people are counting the meals they have missed, the relatives they have lost, and the days since they last slept safely in their own homes while dictator Abdel Fatah al-Burhan is counting his billions.

Al Burhan is directly responsible for the death of the poor miners who were slaughtered by Sisi and his army. Burhan didn't condemn the attack and is playing cards for his PR stunts while the families are mourning. The man is the killer of his own people, the butcher of Sudan!

A video of Abdel Fattah al-Burhan playing cards with soldiers and civilians is circulating as Sudan confronts reports of another devastating loss: at least 72 miners killed in an airstrike near the Sudan–Egypt border.

Sensitive videos reveal the horrific scale of the massacre carried out by Egyptian military aircraft, which killed more than 200 young Sudanese gold miners at Jabal Al-Ugaidat, located inside Sudanese territory. This crime can only be described, at the very least, as a war crime, amid the shameful silence of the complicit Sudanese army and the coup-installed de facto government. #SaveSudan #مجزرة_شمال_الوادي #مصر_تقتل_السودانيين #حق_الدهابة

Seventy-two miners dead. Families left grieving. Survivors left with the horror of an ordinary working day turned into bloodshed. While Sudan’s army chief, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan is playing cards with soldiers, the sudanese people are being killed by a foreign army. Human rights group accuses Egypt, one of Burhan’s closest allies, of carrying out the attack. An airstrike, in which Al Sisi forces near the Egyptian border killed 72 miners. The dead cannot speak. Their families are owed answers: who ordered the attack, who dropped the bombs, and will anyone ever be held responsible?

Why does Mohammed bin Salman keep escalating in Yemen when the consequences threaten the security he promised his own people?

Mohammed bin Salman's downfall is inevitable, and he's finished. If he's lucky, he might board the last gold-plated Boeing 747 from Riyadh to London or some safe haven—or even the United States—that he's prepared for himself.

Europe is finally changing its approach to the Muslim Brotherhood. What is UK doing, huh? London has long been an important base for Brotherhood-linked figures and organisations. Time to stop them!

The sharpest point in this illustration is the distance between what MBS is being told and what is happening outside his door. The adviser points to Mocha and delivers a story of victory. MBS looks satisfied. Meanwhile, the Houthis are already at the palace entrance.

The Mecca Pact is facing its first real test and so far it looks a lot better on paper than it does under fire. Erdogan’s Turkey and Shehbaz Sharif’s Pakistan have agreed to deploy forces and military capabilities to Saudi Arabia under the pact after repeated Houthi attacks on Saudi cities and economic infrastructure. But the mission is being framed around defending Saudi territory and infrastructure rather than sending Turkish and Pakistani troops into Yemen to attack the Houthis directly. Think about that Saudi oil infrastructure has been attacked, Riyadh has faced serious disruption from missiles and drones, and the threat to aviation and Red Sea shipping has intensified while MBS’s new military alliance mobilizes primarily to stand guard The Houthis attack Saudi infrastructure. Saudi Arabia calls its allies. Turkey sends support. Pakistan sends support. But neither Erdogan nor Sharif appears eager to send his soldiers across the border to fight the Houthis directly. So what exactly is the mighty Mecca Pact supposed to demonstrate? MBS wanted collective deterrence. Instead the first major crisis is exposing the limits of what his partners are actually prepared to do. We don’t attack. We only protect. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia is the one absorbing the attacks. Some alliance. Some deterrence. Some Pact.
