How can we actually get #groundwater #recharge to happen?
Are the barriers primarily about building a better infiltration basin, or do the institutions present major challenges too? Who has solved them and how?

Because desalination requires vast amounts of energy, @kiparsky of @BerkeleyLawCLEE Wheeler Water Institute warns of a feedback loop where more desal is needed as the planet warms, which leads to more greenhouse gas emissions.
For decades, we have been told that desalination—desal for short— would one day turn oceans of salt water into fresh and quench the world’s thirst. But progress has been slow.
That's changing, as desal is coming into play in many places around the world. wired.trib.al/b6J247C
