Inside the mind of Nuggets playoff X-factor Cam Johnson, who’s currently reading “The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality” to unwind after games.
One of the most fun interviews I’ve had with a player in a minute. For @DenverPost

Spencer Jones (hamstring) says he’s on track to play in the season opener at OKC. He participated in a scrimmage for a few minutes today at practice.
Christian Braun, DeMar DeRozan and Marvin Bagley finishing their preseasons on a high note offensively. Nuggets wrap it up with a 121-106 win over the Lakers to go 3-2. That’s a 49.2-win pace for the real preseason heads out there.
Trevon Brazile’s former coaches attest that Nuggets second-rounder has “lottery pick athleticism” denverpost.com/2026/06/27/nu…
Preseason ejection! Cam Johnson is sent off in the third quarter for an elbow to Austin Reaves. Both teams appear surprised.
Trevon Brazile making the most of his minutes with the starters. Impressive preseason overall for the rookie.
We’re starting preseason games 17 minutes behind schedule now in the National Basketball Association. What are we doing.

David Adelman said nothing new on Julian Strawther other than knee injury. He’ll get an MRI in the morning.
David said it sucks to see anyone get hurt but especially someone that’s been “working their ass off all summer.”
“All you can do is hope for the best.”

David Adelman’s answer to the “why not just play 11?” chorus and other recent musings on the bench, which has turned into a fascinating puzzle.
“We were in there for an hour talking about the 10th spot.”
It’s stiff competition between opposite services: denverpost.com/2026/10/13/nu…
Interesting note from David Adelman: Nuggets will continue trying all-bench lineups into the regular season. “We’ve looked at all the metric stuff. We’ve had some success with Cam out there. … We’ve also had some success with no starter out there. So I have to at least see that”
Finally got Nikola Jokic to weigh in.
"Probably was the best pass I ever passed in my NBA career. So it was a good pass."
Plus, Aaron Gordon waxes profane/poetic about it: denverpost.com/2026/10/12/ni…
Cam Johnson has been so decisive and dynamic in a lot of split actions/DHOs tonight. More confident with his involvement in the offense, vocal during dead balls. You can tell how much more comfortable he is than this time last year.
Bulls coach Tiago Splitter greeted Alpha Diallo at the scorer’s table as he checked into the game. It’s Diallo and four offensive players right now for Denver (Jokic, Murray, DeRozan, Strawther).
