Thinking of colleagues at Reach and across UK news. 186 editorial jobs at risk. We must continue to invest in original reporting that keeps readers informed, strengthens democracy, and makes our society harder to mislead. Hard to see another round of cuts.
Reach to cut editorial headcount by 186 in ‘biggest reorganisation’ yet: 'For our editorial teams, we will need to adopt a different way of working from top to bottom, as we match our resources to our ambitions' Proposes 321 redundancies + 135 new roles pressgazette.co.uk/news/reac…

My 5 top tips for anyone looking to start their dream business: 1. Take Action 2. Take Action 3. Take Action 4. Take Action 5. TAKE ACTION You can have the best idea, the most detailed business plan, and a game-changing product… None of it matters unless you actually start making moves. Execution is everything—without it, your dreams will remain just that: dreams.

I talk a lot about how we started @wearejamprime —the hard work, the lessons, and the journey. Why? Because our origin story is the heartbeat of our brand. Sharing our journey and challenges makes us relatable and builds a strong connection with our audience. It’s not just about where we’ve been, but where we’re going. Your story is one of your most powerful tools. Embrace it, share it, and elevate your brand. #BrandBuilding #PR #Storytelling #JamPress

When we launched Jam Press, selling our product was easy. 😎 We knew exactly what we were offering and who our customers were—national newspapers looking for engaging, entertaining content. My background as a newspaper picture editor meant we also knew precisely how they wanted it delivered. Now, I’m not saying we didn’t have to work hard, but anyone who’s started a business knows how valuable it is to have that kind of head start. So, when we decided to start a PR company, I assumed it would be just as easy… We had another strong advantage: a great product. 🚀 We understood the stories the media wanted and knew how to produce them for our clients. It seemed simple—success felt inevitable. But I was naive. 😳 The reality is, the PR industry is incredibly competitive. 🥊 There are thousands of companies out there offering similar services. The big questions quickly became: why should clients choose us? And, how to we let them know we are here?! This question led me on a deep dive into business education. I soon realised I knew far less about starting a business than I thought. 🤨 And the learning curve has been steep, but also incredibly rewarding. In the past few years, I’ve learned more than I ever imagined—about marketing, sales, psychology, confidence, self-discipline, decision-making, leadership, product development, pricing, advertising, and more. The amount of time and energy required to compete in today’s markets is staggering. Business is tough, and that’s a fact. So now, I make it a point to learn and improve every day. I’m currently reading James Clear’s Atomic Habits, and it’s been eye-opening. The book highlights how small, consistent actions can lead to significant results. Here are five key takeaways: 1️⃣ Focus on Tiny Habits: Start small. Even the smallest adjustments can lead to major improvements over time. 2️⃣ Embrace Habit Stacking: Build new habits on top of existing ones. This makes it easier to integrate new behaviours into your routine. 3️⃣ Design Your Environment for Success: Your environment has a bigger impact on your habits than you might think. Set yourself up for success by making good habits easier and bad ones harder. 4️⃣ Focus on Identity-Based Habits: Align your habits with the person you want to become, not just the goals you want to achieve. This approach makes habits more sustainable. 5️⃣ Commit to Continuous Improvement: Aim to get just 1% better every day. Those small, consistent actions add up over time, leading to significant, lasting results. Business is a continuous learning journey, and I’m committed to getting better every day. Build good habits that last. You won’t see the results overnight, but they will compound into glorious achievements over time. Each small step forward builds momentum, and before you know it, those consistent efforts will transform your life in ways you never imagined. Stay patient, stay committed, and let the power of persistence guide you to success.

Why building a brand is more important than ever in 2024 🚀 Everyone’s at it these days, right? 😎 First, we had Facebook, where everyone shared pictures of themselves at parties and doing silly things (just me, then?) Then came Instagram, where everyone posted carefully selected and edited photos to show them living their best lives. Now, we've reached a point where people truly understand the impact of what they post online. And people are supercharging that. That’s what makes LinkedIn such an incredible place to be right now. My generation has beta-tested every form of social media (MySpace, Bebo?) Now they are flourishing on Linkedin and showcase themselves in their best light 💡 You guys are doing amazing work, winning awards, and documenting your processes. It’s beautiful. 😍 This platform is one of the best forms of social media because it’s so positive and inspiring. 💕 Sure, take some of it with a pinch of salt. 🤐 But that’s the internet in general, right? So, why is building a brand so important right now? Just look around. 👀 If you’re not building a brand— be it business or personal—you’re falling behind. 😿 Your colleagues are doing it to get better jobs. Your competitors are doing it to attract new clients, drive 👇 ROI, and push ☝ prices. If you haven’t started to build your brand, you must. 🎯 Not sure how? Drop me a DM, or join my Skool group, where we’ll teach you exactly how to do it. Introducing the Prime Entrepreneurs Network, where my team and I will be hanging out. We're in there sharing our journey, and building a community of top-tier professionals striving for success! Jump in; it’s free! And you don't get much for free these days... (link in the comments)

This is how we branded a boutique Somerset music festival, “The Most Beautiful Festival in the UK” @LoveValleyFest is set in the picturesque Chew Valley, will take place from August 1st to 4th. Our PR team, @jam_prime helped to ensure it is recognised as “the most beautiful festival in the UK.” Partnering with Valley Fest’s team, we aimed to generate news coverage leading up to the event, shaping public perception, and highlighting the limited remaining tickets. Here’s how we achieved it: 🔸 Expert Hook Identification: Our PR team excels at identifying the right hooks to land stories in the press. For Valley Fest, we leveraged its stunning location and unique charm. 🔸 Personal Experience: Having attended Valley Fest myself, I can attest to its beauty. Overlooking a lake, it’s an unparalleled experience. 🔸 Leveraging Media Love for Labels: Knowing the media’s love for catchy labels, we sought a quote from a previous attendee to support our claim. 🔸 Social Media Research: Our team scoured Valley Fest’s social media pages to find the perfect endorsement. 🔸 Perfect Quote Found: “Can’t wait, the most beautiful festival in the UK by far.” was the quote we found. 🔸 Headline Creation: We issued a press release stating that social media users had dubbed Valley Fest the most beautiful festival in the UK. 🔸 Exceptional Coverage: This approach landed us exceptional coverage in major outlets such as the BBC, Daily Mirror, Metro and more... 🔸 SEO Impact: As an added bonus, when you Google “UK’s most beautiful festival,” Valley Fest now appears at the top! Win! We’re thrilled to have helped Valley Fest claim this title. We also can’t wait to head down there in a couple of weeks! 🍻 The festival promises great people, amazing music, and exceptional food. And of course, it’s set in the most beautiful location of any music festival in the UK!

What an incredible week! I had the pleasure of meeting @AdamStottCoach at one of his Big Business Events. We’re taking @jam_prime to the next level, and it’s been amazing learning how to scale into the multi-millions. I’m really excited to put these lessons into action for our business and clients. We’ve already built an incredible PR offering, but adding more steps to our value ladder will supercharge our services. I’m also looking to start a business group for elite entrepreneurs seeking greater visibility, which we all know equals more revenue. Look out for more news on that soon! Additionally, we are developing a super branding offer for top-tier entrepreneurs eager for a comprehensive media blitz. Imagine having pages of news articles on Google showcasing how amazing you and your business are. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, drop me a DM. #Business #branding #pr
