Well folks, it's been a good run but it's time to move to a platform that is not owned by an overt Nazi. Feel free to follow where the skies are bluer. (bencook)

As I wrote in a guide to surviving demagoguery 8 years ago, if you favor Trump or some of his policies and support him in good faith, make a list of things now you would be disappointed if he did or did not do. Try to keep yourself honest if you can. Don’t join a cult.

The ugly details of a deal like this will make it interesting to see if President Trump keeps claiming he was behind the whole thing.
Ari Fuld, a 40-year-old father of four, was murdered in a 2018 terror attack. His family has been notified that the terrorist who murdered his brother will be released as part of the ceasefire-hostage deal. Ari’s brother Eitan: “The release of Ari's murderer hurts. Not because our murderer is more important than the murderer of another family; I am pained by Ari's loss every day, in the past and in the future…My biggest problem, and everyone else's, is the next people to be murdered and the net families who will unfortunately join the bereaved families due to this awful deal.” The terrorist is Khalil Yusef Ali Jabarin was sentenced to life in prison. In 2023, the Palestinian Authority (PA) doubled Jabarin's monthly salary, raising it from $522 per month to $1,044 per month.

Mahomes sliding late is the new Brady throwing a jump ball for the bailout PI call. I dunno if the league is in the “tank” for them, but they sure had the opportunity to address the problem and didn’t.

Papa Putin made his wishes clear and GOP leadership is snapping to!
🚨🚨BREAKING NEWS: @SpeakerJohnson has decided to remove @RepMikeTurner as chair of the House Intelligence Committee. from me and @MZanona

Read as: Republican Senators ok with entrusting the Dep. of Defense to an alcoholic, sexist with has absolutely no experience because Dear Leader liked watching him on Fox News.
Pete Hegseth, Trump's pick to lead the Pentagon, endured fierce Democratic grilling over everything from his inexperience, alleged drinking and his past opposition to women in combat to emerge largely unscathed among Republicans at his confirmation hearing reut.rs/4heskd3

His defense is that he had multiple affairs at the same time. That’s the best case scenario. The question of why his oaths sworn to the country would be any different than those he so frequently broke is a valid one. AND he has absolutely no qualifications or experience.
Suspect Dems made a strategic miscalculation focusing so heavily on Hegseth’s alleged sexual misconduct. Reality: a lot of this country doesn’t trust the media so they’re skeptical of allegations. Far more effective to zero in on Hegseth’s credentials/experience. If every Dem took Duckworth’s approach, he wouldn’t get confirmed. After today I strongly suspect he will.

It’s not an either or. Both of these things are true about him, in addition to being an alcoholic. Anyone who cares to pay attention heard all of that in the hearing. Sen. Duckworth made many good points, why would others need to make them again?

I can’t read Jack Smith’s report as anything other than “if the Justice Department had gotten their shit together in any sort of timely manner, justice would have been served.”

We all witnessed the crimes on live TV but it took two years to spin up a special counsel. The incompetence is staggering.

I agree. If this keeps up before you know it we’ll have criminals leading the entire country!

The other thing I hope will come out of the #WPdrama (other than Matt’s eventual exile from the project) is for folks to be a bit more open to dissenting voices & critiques of leadership BEFORE it directly impacts them. This behavior is not new. Most ignored the warnings.

I also hope the community doesn’t empower someone who supported and defended Matt until it became unpopular to do so.

Mullenweg going into full victim mode after trying to extort WPE folks is really something to behold. What the hell did he think “scorched earth” meant?

lol if you believe this about Justice Roberts after what we’ve seen over the last several years, I have a bridge to sell you.
The denial of the Supreme Court on the Trump stay played out as expected. Nothing in the effort would have appealed to Chief Justice Roberts. He is the ultimate institutionalist who not only prefers regular order but a minimal role of the Court in political matters...

The US Senate that just begun its work has only 3 states with split party delegations - ME, PA, WI. That’s the smallest share of the body in the history of elected senators.
