A financially juiced up Newcastle would be hilarious to watch.
So thought balloons put out by someone at the Premier League or club involved regarding a big point deduction this reason and something next.
Sum total?
No titles rescinded.
City back in 2-3 seasons
They'll keep plenty of players to compete plus academy.
So 20 trophies, elevation from nationally big-ish club to globally big club, owners carry on regardless, nothing to see regarding last few years including fees, player and former managers contracts.
Seems fair.
If that's the punishment then I genuinely hope Newcastle United in particular just blow everyone out of the water and overheat the system in England so much that it will be impossible to compete at all. That they win every major trophy every season for 50 years and destroy English football, bankrupting 50+ clubs as they chase the impossible.
Because if the punishment for a decade plus of deliberate corrupt practice is 2 or 3 seasons out of the Premier League then I'll cheer on any club in this land who does the same in the future.
Not really a punishment is it 🤣
If you’re City, you’re taking that all day every day.
Just two years of Championship football.
Absolutely worth it.
Soundings from insiders suggest the most likely punishment for #ManCity is a huge points deduction which will ensure relegation to the Championship, plus a huge fine.
The Premier League are pressing for @ManCity’s punishment to be announced before the appeal result, which is unlikely to be decided before the end of January.
It is also possible the punishment would include a further points deduction effectively confining the club to the Championship for at least one more season. The EFL would not be obliged to accept that, but it is probable they would.

Might as well pack it all in.
🚨 | Man City punishment update from @OllieHolt22:
Insiders suggest the most likely punishment is a swingeing points deduction, which will ensure Man City’s RELEGATION to the Championship, plus a HUGE fine.
The punishment could also include a FURTHER points deduction that would effectively confine City to the Championship for at least one MORE season.
The EFL would not be obliged to accept that sanction for one of its clubs, but it would likely do so. 😳

How’s he going to survive man?
Too harsh.
Just look at football like WWE now 🤣
None of it is real.
Maybe it's compounded being here again in the cycle Manchester United are stuck in since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, but I am so disengaged from football.
I cannot escape the feeling since City were found guilty. The integrity & authenticity of the game is on life support, if it at all. We are witnesses to a farce, a sham.
Perhaps it changes when the appeal inevitably fails, they are sanctioned & gone. That said, it doesn't change a thing with United. They are who they are too.
How depressing it is to watch the sport you love be torn apart & destroyed by the rich & evil, who to football is simply another tool for more wealth & power.
Just because you played together….
He should not be afforded any time.
He’s not a top level manager.
Loved him as a player. Love him as a person. Not Manchester United manager material.
🚨🗣️ Rio Ferdinand is backing Michael Carrick:
"We started poorly last season and look how it finished. Let's hope we've got that little kick on this season to change things around.
And you've got to stay with someone like Michael. Give him the time. Let him go out there. Let him turn this around.
It's the first bump in his managerial career at Manchester United. You can't just turn someone's lights off at the first sign of trouble. Give him the chance to change the fortunes of the club."

Ever heard of Specsavers?
Unpopular opinion, but Diogo Dalot had a really good game today. Never a wing-back, but stood up to the challenge here #mufc
Already knocked out of Carabao Cup
7 points from 21 & 13th in league
Won’t get far in Champions League
What’s he waffling about?
13th in the league
PL | 7 points from 21 (33%)
PL | 1 win from 7 (14%)
PL | 0 goal difference
13th in Champions League
2 wins from 10 this season, all competitions (20%)
Already out of Carabao Cup
Yeah, yeah, waiting until next summer to fix the defence was a really sound idea Wilcox & Co.
Really elite thinking there…
