“You people are not aware, but we have signed a law that every Nigerian must pay 25% of their income as tax. National Assembly has approved it. If APC wins in 2027, immediately after election they will implement it.” — Senator Ireti Kingibe (ADC)

To those still defending the Bold Reforms: 1 West African CFA franc (XOF) in Burkina Faso is approximately ₦2.28 to ₦2.40 Nigerian Naira, depending on daily market fluctuations. If you have 100,000 CFA franc (XOF) right now, you have approximately ₦228,000. You use it for cross-border trade & travel with neighboring CFA-zone countries (especially Benin & Niger). You need the CFA to buy cars from Cotonou. Under Ibrahim Traore, Burkina Faso saw salary increases, a gold refinery, tractors & support for farmers & local factories. In Nigeria, they are selling GDP, foreign reserves, & bold reforms. Numbers that only look good on paper. The reality remains that Nigerians are facing high fuel & food prices, & less purchasing power. OBJ implemented reforms, but he didn’t kill you. Teachers bought cars under his watch. They called it “Gbemu Aremu” after his name. Gbemu in this case, means “windfall” or cash. The West African CFA franc even has a higher nominal exchange value than the orphaned naira. Pastor Adeboye’s prayer refused to work.

Dear Africans, Are You Protecting Your Interests? It's 2026 and the world has seen an indicted war criminal with an outstanding ICC arrest warrant address the UN General Assembly, months after a country's military invaded another country, kidnapped its sitting president and his wife, and locked them up like criminals in a prison in New York where they face trumped up charges. The state of geopolitics and international relations in the 21st century has never left less room for doubt about the fact that interests and power - not rules - are the true animating force behind how the world works. In this commentary, @big_mck asks Africans the obvious question - who is protecting African interests?

Watch this video 2 or 3 times, then go away and think carefully about what @Big_Mck is saying here. The world is racing toward the shooting phase of the third world war (the non-kinetic phase already began since September 2001). How are you preparing yourself as an African?

A legally wedded Muslim couple from Bangladesh visited Saudi Arabia for Umrah. The husband wanted a honeymoon in Nepal but the wife preferred an Umrah in Mecca, which has been a lifetime ambition for her. During the Umrah, the couple got overwhelmed with joy, hugged each other and shared a kiss. A Pakistani guy recorded the moment and shared it to the police. The Islam authorities got hold of the video and had the young couple arrested. Ordered their beheading. This couple got beheaded with sword and the executioner shouted Allahu Akbar! The bodies of the couple have been returned to Bangladesh in body bags.

There’s a particular reason loan companies in Nigeria are comfortable giving out millions of naira to people they’ve never met, and once you understand how their business model works, you’ll begin to see the entire lending industry differently. Think about it. OPay and other loan companies are practically begging people to borrow money. Meanwhile, some Nigerians owe three or four different loan apps at the same time. How do these companies calculate their risks? What happens when someone collects the money and disappears? And who exactly is making all the money in this equation? The more you think about it, the more you realise that some of the biggest businesses in the world are built around things most people barely understand. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, and sometimes the most obvious explanation isn’t necessarily the whole story. Anyway, have you noticed that people who wear glasses always seem to know exactly where their glasses are, until the moment they actually need them? You can spend ten minutes searching the entire house, checking under your pillow, looking inside the fridge, and accusing everybody around you of moving your things. Only for you to discover that the glasses have been sitting on your head the entire time. 😭
If everyone owes loan companies in Naija, how are they making their gain?🤔 Even Opay and co advertising for people to borrow, how are they sure people won’t abscond with their money?

It is not the men you're worried about. You don't care about them. It is the women who are unmarried as a consequence because the men do not want to get married, that you're worried about.
There's a pandemic of men slowly hitting 30s and 40s and still unmarried What's going on?

If you want a fast-lane life where taking a break can feel like a luxury, the UK, Canada and much of Europe offer you that. If you want a fast-lane life where taking a break is still part of the culture, Asia can offer you that. If you want a life where work-life balance is non-negotiable, New Zealand offers you that. If you want a fast-lane life built around ambition, luxury, convenience and opportunity, places like Dubai and Qatar offer you that. If you want a life with a mix of hustle, community, freedom, chaos, opportunity and enjoyment, Africa gives you a bit of everything. In my next life, I’d love to experience Asia again. There’s something about that part of the world that stays with you.

This young man makes a sensible comparison between the Indian and Nigerian communities in the diaspora, and how they behave differently when they move to Canada or the UK. There are vital lessons we can learn here:

Coming back to this. There are many Indian owned businesses in the UK and due to community strength, they employ each other and give themselves job sponsorship to remain in the UK. They encourage and support each other to start businesses, get job and bring others in. A Nigerian would be selling sponsorship that is not even his company. There is no job, just sponsorship. You'll still go outside to look for work to pay bills after paying £10k. We hide update because we want to be better than the next person.

🚨 Guys, please stay alert! The streets are getting dangerous. 😭💔 Imagine someone buying you drinks, paying your bills and offering you a ride home, only for you to discover that the kindness was a trap. Never let free drinks, money, or gifts make you ignore your safety. Be careful about accepting rides from strangers, and always let someone you trust know where you are. Your safety comes first. No amount of money can erase trauma or undo the damage caused by sexual violence. Stay vigilant. Stay safe. No means NO, and consent is NON-NEGOTIABLE. 🚨

A lot of men are misogynistic if we want to be sincere. That’s why I always advocate for men to give women equal chances and equal treatment. I like to see when men choose not to be misogynistic by choosing to act fair and equal when dealing with women.

This inDrive dispatch rider said he went to pick up a package, only to discover that it was a big Ghana Must Go bag. The rider said it was too big for him to carry and asked the customer to cancel the order, but the customer refused. The rider also said customers are aware that if he cancels the ride, inDrive will block him for six hours for cancelling just one job. ~ A dispatch rider shares what happened between him and a customer who placed an order.
